I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry right now. This is just amazing.

Lidstrom has looked much worse than he did last season. I have a feeling he is going to retire after this year. Especially if his play does not pick up. His positioning has been lackluster (he ignored Morrow in front of Osgood last night and had to be bailed out), he has been turning over pucks more than most of the defense on this team, and his shot is incredibly weak right now. Hopefully he can improve.

I think we are going to break the record for panic threads before January.

1. I sincerely doubt the two of them are going to be offered one-way contracts next season, if at all. 2. Osgood had one bad game. A game in which his performance was made to look even worse due to the team in front of him. EVERYONE was bad. 3. Draper hasn't played a single game yet this season. Honestly? Stop being so knee-jerk people.

Where were you when Osgood was in Chicago? Seriously. Also "too deep in his net" is the last description you should give Osgood. If anything he is way too far out of hi net.
-
The team was down by one in the first. The Wings didn't get much out of that. Only down by 2 into the second. Once again, no offense to speak of. Where exactly were you last night? Howard let in a goal with less than a minute into the third and gave up the tying goal with what, 5 minutes to play? Osgood wasn't great, but to say he was a deciding factor in this game is silly. Howard would not have gotten anything close to a win. The team was that bad.

In my university that is a passing grade. CONGRATS OSGOOD YOU PASSED!

What a goal. This team is going places. What a great day to be a Wings fan.

At least Tampa won, amiriteguyz?
-
Yeah, Howard probably would have done much better with the ZERO GOALS WE HAVE SCORED TONIGHT.
-
I miss the BFF line. It only lasted three games but it felt soooo goood.
-
Howard wouldn't have fared much better tonight. 1, maybe two goals off the board. Doesn't matter if your team doesn't do anything in their end.
-
Team is awful. Don't see anything positive to come out of this game so far. Franzen is hurt, the third line is s***, the first line doesn't know what they are doing, the defense is in the clouds, and Osgood just looks out of his element out there. Jokes. At least the team has 5 points thus far.
-
Just watch Toronto lose the next four games and start blaming him for ruining the chemistry of the defense or something like that.
-
I didn't say that. I said I don't believe Eaves being put with Datsyuk makes sense when there are other players who would more likely thrive on his line than Eaves. Eaves has thrived so far in the fourth line. I think it makes sense to keep him there until the opportunity arises where he can prove himself.

Can you please give me a screen grab of the hit and outline Pominville's number? -

Ah, so putting your shoulder into someone's numbers and plastering their face into the boards is a legal hockey play now? Strange, because last time I checked Hjalmarsson is sitting out until Saturday. -

He took a run at a player with his back turned to him and threw his head into the boards. Derp. Campbell was certain enough to suspend him for two games. Derp derp. -
For the record they had 14 shots on goal last night. That is just abysmal.

Oh great, FIBS is back to enlighten us with his abundance of hockey knowledge. I'm so ******* excited. -
My care level couldn't be lower.

That wasn't a discussion about top 6 or not. Eva suggested Eaves play on a line with Datsyuk over Cleary, Franzen, Holmstrom, etc. Not an effective use of assets. Also Eaves scored 20 goals his rookie year. Five years ago. I like the guy and everything but he is doing well in the position he plays. We shouldn't suddenly start saying "hey Eaves top line nao?" just because he scored a nice goal on a 2 on 1.
-
Eaves is not Holmstrom. He is too far down on the chain to be considered to be on a line with Datsyuk, and the fourth line fits him better anyway.
-
Eaves is a grinding type player. He does not have the type of skillset to be effective on the top line. He just doesn't.
-
He isn't THAT fast and his shot isn't THAT hard. He simply does not have the talent to play with a guy like Datsyuk and if he did he wouldn't be on the fourth line. I don't care how "deep" you think this team is.
