Ever tried rendering it in revit? I think you could transfer the sketchup models in there and then render it with lights and everything.
-
Google sketchup?
-
Also there is no way that is a 20,000 seat arena. No chance in hell.

Is this guy even a hockey fan? Does he have a location in mind that could allow for all these ideas to function properly? I'm having trouble getting into an idea where the designer doesn't actually know what it is like to be in an NHL arena other than input from fans. For starters, the suites. Scouts, GMs, announcers, and other big spenders want to see all the action evenly. It is incredibly hard to know exactly what is going on at one end of the ice if you are opposite the rink. That's why center ice seats are the best. They give an overall better view than the end seats. Also the retractable roof seems like a bad idea unless the energy savings (most games occur during night anyway and the rink has to be cool which would not be helped by a large amount of sunlight) outweigh the cost of building the roof and cooling the rink.

Hit the nail on the head. Lidstrom is the only other player I can think of right now who should have his number retired here. Nobody else has the legacy those retired players have.
-
Most likely will be: 1. Datsyuk 2/3. Bertuzzi/Hudler Franzen must really suck at the shootout for him to never get attempts.

What Current NHL Players are Locks for the Hall of Fame?
Doc Holliday replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
As much as I love Osgood, I really don't think he will get in. It is the hall of fame. It is for the best of the best. Osgood was a very consistent goaltender who did well with what he had. He was never the best of his class any year, he never won an individual award, and he never was considered the best on his team (save perhaps the 09 playoffs). I would love to see him get in, but I really don't think he will or should. -
Yes, how dare we discuss our biggest rivals and enjoy the absolute desecration of their sorry team this off-season? You may go now.
-
The only great offseasons are the ones that follow cup wins. Getting excited over actual success is much more satisfying than potential success.
-
Thanks for the Central division, Marty.
-
Probably because he was such a tease in Montreal when it came to fighting.
-
This guy was my idol growing up. What a monster he was. If I could get a guy with Lidstrom's skill and Steven's tenacity and ability to read a hit you would have an all out Norris trophy winning, forward dominating, clutch machine.
-
1998, surprisingly. We really didn't get a chance to celebrate 97 due to Vlady's accident, so winning it a second time and watching the team surround him with the cup was just a treat.
-
I have watched both. I live 5 minutes away from Compuware so I tend to see a few Whalers games a year. I haven't seen a huge difference between the two. OHL has plenty of dirty and gritty hits involved, but at the same time is faster which likely makes things look much worse as compared to the NCAA (compared to the speed of today's game compared to when Gordie Howe played and the tolerance of cheap hitting between the two). Either way, from what little I've seen of Smith, I like him. Always love a bruising defender.
-
I would think NCAA would be dirtier than OHL considering everyone in college wears a full cage and isn't as afraid to try and take someone's head off.
-
Part of me would be stoked and another part of me would be like "meh, been there, done that." I loved the whole "once in a lifetime" aspect of the game which made it so enjoyable to watch. By far the best WC game so far, even though it probably was boring towards the end as a Hawks fan.
-
It doesn't make sense to put a Canadian team in the WC. Heritage Classic, sure, but not Winter Classic. Wish it could have been the Rangers and Devils, but whatever. This is a cash grab by the NHL. Shows how ridiculous it was to have put Buffalo (despite their cult following) in the first Winter Classic ever.

I wouldn't consider draft picks the same thing as what was being discussed. Detroit doesn't have anything LA would want in a trade but Detroit wouldn't have to to acquire him. Especially considering a guy like Doughty would likely be worth the first round draft picks anyway. Perhaps a large overpay but possible. LA will probably sign him or match any offer sheet Detroit would put out, but you never know. Hossa bolted to Detroit and left a s*** ton of money on the table two years ago.
-
Can you tell me the lotto numbers for the next drawing? I am not getting my hopes up, but at the same time you have to think of any and all possibilities. Doughty could sign somewhere else after next season. It is not definite that he will sign an extension during.
-
Last time I checked the Wings don't have to give LA anything in order to sign Doughty if the guy is a free agent.
-
I find it funny this is the same woman Hossa was with when he was with Pittsburgh. Perhaps she didn't want to marry anyone who hadn't won a cup yet?
-
I think I remember him.

This is where we are going to have to agree to disagree. Once again, agree to disagree.

My main gripe was with how Babcock started things, which progressively caused him to keep Osgood on the pine and keep Howard in net. Basically I think he caused the problem to snowball on himself. Would a few starts here and there make a big difference? Not likely, no. But I believe that Osgood should have at least had a start between his win in Nashville and his loss in Chicago. And I think that if Osgood really wasn't as up to snuff as Babcock thought, then Howard should have been given the away start against Chicago and Osgood the Dallas and Chicago home start.
