The guy is legendary in the post season. I don't know why but he turns into freaking Rocket Richard and dominates. Love this guy on our team. Totally worth his contract.
-
Miller is likely going to get dumped. His contract was an insurance policy in case Modano doesn't sign.

Funny how people talk about youth when Detroit's "veteran" team was able to beat one of the younger teams in the league back in 08. Eh, f*** that. I WANT YOUNG PLAYERS!! Honestly, you sound like the media after the 2001 playoffs. And last time I checked Holland was able to prove them wrong considering he knows more about the game and the players in his system than anyone on these forums.

Basically. It is like when you were 4 and you kept tugging on your mother's leg to buy you the candy you really want.
-
Yeah, a guy who gets inflated point totals on playing the powerplay and in situations he would never get here, but would still not be a valuable asset to the team. Let's hope not.

Irony (and poor grammar) alert! Great signing. Got a team player and PKer for dirt cheap.

Rafalski Considered "top six signings since the 2005-06 season"

You know Hossa's 3 goals and solid defensive play are what put Chicago over the edge. You'd be a fool to think otherwise. Yes I'm being sarcastic. -
Did he say "I f***in hate those guys" at the end?

Low risk, high reward? Seems like something Newfy was looking for.

Hard to call the dive in such a fast paced game when even on replays it isn't always definitive if the player embellished/dove on the call or not.
-
I wouldn't consider a handful of borderline "top" players (as in top 2 pairing defenseman, top 1st line center) a lot to work with. Especially with a coach who doesn't seem to get a heck of a lot out of his players.

He's no Dino Ciccarelli.

Possibly, but not likely.

The new Ted Lindsay award. Freaking awesome.

Ladies and gentlemen we have a backtracker... And newfy, everyone knows you have a penchant for talking up NA players and giving s*** to European players. You wanted Steve Downie on this team ffs.

Pretty much. I drove once at 2 am for 12 hours straight. I almost swerved headfirst into a semi (in a snow storm no less).

I love his reaction after Philly scores. "YESS!! WHAT THE f***!?!?!?!" *throw cushion at tv in anger* Either that guy was incredibly stupid not to think something was up with the TV or this is fake. Still pretty funny.

Depends on what Bylsma decides with the line combinations. It is quite possible that Howard doesn't play this game either.

Great. He was noticeable. He still didn't score goals. The 40 goal scorer actually scored less than his "injury prone" post-season last year. And before you get on the "irrational hate" bandwagon, I was so happy for Hossa winning the cup. I rooted for him all the way because he is a great guy and I miss him in a Wings uniform. But he hasn't performed the way HE is supposed to. Two way play means defense AND offense. He brought the defense, but was unable to bring the bacon in offense (despite him "looking good"). If Chicago doesn't have the depth Hossa is under the microscope. And Eva, I'm glad a 50 point pace (15 goal pace?) is good enough for a 5+ million dollar player.

I wonder if it is okay for Bobby Hull to joke about beating his wife now.
-
Ask me when he becomes a free agent next season. He could easily just be mediocre in the playoffs and nobody would really care to sign him for a whole lot.
-
If the guy requires long periods of rest in order to perform well then maybe he should have stayed in Atlanta. My entire point was that people continue to make excuses for Hossa not showing up on the scoresheet, but the fact remains that he flat out did not. That is something you have to look for when signing players.

Would a real gritty fighter help or hurt this team?

The 08 was up and down better all around.
