My father's first language is Swedish and when watching the games with him, he always pronounces Franzen as, "Frahn-zaeyn". There is an accent over the "e", which I also have in my last name, effecting the pronunciation. The funny thing is, in February, I was at a tequila bar in San Jose, on the night before the SJ/Red Wings game, and Franzen walked in and sat next to me at the bar. Admittedly being a little tipsy, I totally remember boasting to him that we had the same "e with an accent over it" type of last name, and asked him if Franzen was pronounced "Frahn-zaeyn", which he adamantly contended. We then had a *random as hell* conversation about the band The Offspring.

Ha ha, I was staying at the same hotel the Wings stay at in San Jose and before the game myself, my boyfriend and our other friend (we had been bar hopping for awhile at this point before running back to our room to change into our jerseys) were riding in an elevator with Rafalski. Rafalski was wearing glasses and our friend called him Poindexter, and since then we always snicker to ourselves when he's on TV and call him Poindexter. I think our friend also accused him of being Russian. We felt bad aftterwards because we think we totally spooked him.

This is one of the times that I didn't mind spacing out to my ritual of watching King of the Hill every night before bed, and instead getting distracted by something online.... The song wasn't bad at all, however; I'm not gonna lie... the intro to the song sounds awfully similar to 'Holiday' by Green Day.

Per Detroit Free Press: The Red Wings are in Los Angeles this afternoon facing a red-hot Kings team that has won eight in a row. And Tomas Holmstrom left in the first period at Staples Center after hurting his left leg. A team spokesman said Holmstrom will not return. It was only Holmstrom’s third game back since missing 13 games because of a broken foot.

The night before both San Jose games this season, I saw quite a few players drinking. I was sitting at the bar in a restaurant where Cleary, Zetterberg, Maltby, Draper and Meech were eating, and they were all pounding beers with their dinners. Last week, my boyfriend and I were bar hopping the night before the game and ended up at a tequila bar where Franzen, Bertuzzi, Ozzy, Maltby and Ericcson were drinking. Granted, Bertuzzi was the only one playing the next day, but it was still a trip. I totally took a shot of tequila with Franzen! Anyways, of all the players I've seen getting their drink on, I've never seen anyone from the franchise wasted more often that Larry Murphy.

Yup, we just arrived to the hotel an hour ago and I've already seen Babcock and Ozzy (staying next door to us!!). Usually, once evening hits, we start seeing players left and right. I'm waiting to see way more of them when we go out tonight, as they're usually at the shops and restaurants up and down the street. Seeing Holmstrom tonight will get me as excited as I could ever get in anticipation for a Sharks game! We need to win this one!

It's barely noon here in California, I'm nursing a gnarly hangover, and all this craziness, coupled with my uber-dehydration, is about giving me a heart attack.

Here's to hoping this hot streak can maybe sway Lidstrom's opinion as to whether or not he should retire....

I have given Ozzy every benefit of the doubt, so far... I was afraid to post anything about it on here so far because I didn't want to get my head bitten off, but at this point I genuinely want to punch Ozzy in the face. He has single handedly taken us out of the game and cost us two valuable points. Way to go, ******.
