Lost Kopecky,Samuelsson,Hudler,Hossa,Conklin ( 214 pts ) Got Eaves,Miller,Williams,Bertuzzi ( 100 pts ) far from even id say, all im saying is we lost alot of depth scoring and filled it with grinders, Bertuzzi is the exception because i think he had a great season for the Wings. Miller i like but i would not spend money on him again, Eaves did help our PK alot and would rather have him over Miller. I think the LAST thing we need to do is go out and get another 4th liner when we have guys like ( Eaves,Helm,Draper,Abby and Ritola coming up) we need a power forward or another scorer doesnt have to be a big name either. So the other thing i was saying if Lids only takes a 1.45Mill cut doesnt give us really anything to get some more depth so why would Lids even waste his time coming back unless its for a legit chance at winning one more Cup

Lidstrom has already said the only reason he has his son in school in Sweden is incase he does decide to retire so his son has a school to go to. He also said just because he is enrolled there doesnt mean he is done, and Rafalski is overpaid everyone knows this. The Wings cant win a cup with the team we had this year Lids knows that and by signing only 1.4mill cheaper he knows thats not going to help the team get back to where we were when we last won the Cup, so why even bother coming back for one more season if its not for a real shot at winning a Cup.

You have to think to though if Kenny asks to take 2mill 1yr and says it would give the Wings more cap to go out and get someone else and help the team try and Win one more Cup before he retires. Then you also have to think if Lids is coming back for one more its not to not make the playoffs or go out 2nd round again, its at the chance to win one more cup, and knowing by his pay cut he could help the Wings get some depth he might do it. I I think these long term deals are the only way you can lock up great players now with the stupid cap, it lowers the hit,and gives the player the money he wants. like Kovy John Anderson the other day said Kovy is probably going to the KHL this off-season the rumor is he will be offered 3yrs 15mill per season tax free , so with the cap this deal is a no go on any team, unless you do like a 9yr 5 mill deal, i understand the reason for having the Cap in place, but i think it should be at least a 65-70mill cap. I just dont like when they say they do it for teams that dont have the money, well its obvious if the dont have the money the team is not in a Hockey market!. Like as s***ty as the Coyotes were last season, im from Hamilton and Hamilton sold out season tickets at the potential chance we were getting a NHL team, to prove to the NHL we were a hockey market. How Buttman thinks Kansas City,Vegas are better hockey markets then Hamilton,Winn,Quebec i dont know.

Why keep Kindl and Ericcson if theyre terrible ? why not trade them then....why go out and spend money on a player and bring him in when we have young D now that can go in and play,these guys will get better by playing in the NHL not the AHL, you get better by playing with the best. I have no problem with putting a young kid in the AHL for a season or two while he developes a bit and gets a little bigger but i think the Wings are the only team that leaves guys down there that long, like Helm,Abdelkader,Howard. I would bet anything Kindl doesnt play as bad as Lebda did this season and puts up better numbers then Lebda ever has. Kindl 33pts, -4,73gp Lebda 8pts,-2,63gp

I like the 3rd paring to be Kindl-Ericcson, but i would also like having Lilja there as the 7th D just incase something goes wrong.

I was at the Joe for the Pens vs Wings game first time back after winning the Cup there, Wings fans were loud and crazy all game long, giving it to Crosby every time he was on the ice. Got to here the crowd sing Dont stop believing,Jimmy smacked crosby around then the crowd boo'd/chanted crosby sucks until he left the ice. Awsome game

Ya i know its not really the same i just mean in the sense of being able to work over the other team in there own zone and punish them with hits, i actually dont mind not having a fighter on the team,as much as i enjoy watching it i also like when guys like Eaves,Helm,Abby frustrate other guys so much that they want to fight them and end up taking a dumb penalty. We could also just ask Bert to step in more often because Bert can defintly hold his own in a scrap. but ya if we can get our PP back with Hudler in the line up i do enjoy making teams pay on the PP.

See as much as i would love to have screappier guy on this team i also think a line of Eaves-Helm-Abdelkader would be sick thats so much speed on a line plus all 3 love to hit, this line could very well be the next gen grind line. Why does everyone blame Hudler when it was Hossa that took so long to decide if he was staying or going and by that time Hudler,Samuelsson,Kopecky,Conklin were all gone, personally i think it was easy to decide we won the cup without Hossa so why try and sign him when we won it with all the guys we let go.

Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Fippula-Datsyuk-Hudler Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Eaves-Abdlekader-Ritola Draper,Tatar i like your lines but i would leave Zetterberg and Franzen together they seem to have great chemistry, and i actually dont think Miller is back next season if he is though id let him draper and Ritola fight it out, id like to save the few hundred thousand that we would give to Miller and let Ritola fight for that spot

At least that's what his teammates and coaches believe. According to The Detroit News, because of what the Red Wings plan to bring back on the ice for the 2010-11 season, Lidstrom will forget about retirement options. "I think he'll be back," head coach Mike Babcock said. "I'm not in the least bit concerned about that. He's got too much good hockey left in him. And I believe if he did not think that we had a good chance to win he might be different." Lidstrom, 40, appeared in every game this past season, registering nine goals and 40 assists in the process. Meanwhile, changes are expected to be made to the Wings' roster this summer, but the News suggests Babcock and management plan to look within when thinking about roster tweaks. "A message has been sent to myself as a coach and management that we have to improve our team. So how do you improve your team?" Babcock said. "You improve your team by [Valtteri] Filppula taking a big step. He’s at that point in his career where he has to take a step. You improve your team by {Johan Franzen] being healthy. By [Jonathan ] Ericsson taking a big step. By [Jimmy] Howard being in his second year. There are a number of things just internally that we can do and then we’ll make some changes to help ourselves get better." One change the Red Wings already made was bringing back a familiar face in Jiri Hudler, who spent last season in the KHL.

Either way we arent going to find a player to come in and put up 50 points, UFA at the price we are playing Hudler is slim, the only guys would be Plakanec and Lombardi and they will both be getting raises, more then we are paying Hudler. Another thing people are forgetting is he is coming in and is going to have alot of chemistry with the players on this team, which is huge plus he already knows the system and wont take 20 games into the season before he starts doing anything. Even if he puts up 40points its better then what we had this season out of alot of guys. I dont see any reason if he is playing top 6 min why he cant hit 70

Exactly Datsyuk is hands down best all round player in the league. Only if the guy would just shoot more he is a sniper.
