I personally think the only thing thats going to hurt Howards chances is the fact that he is 26, other then that i honestly believe Howard should be a lock for the Calder. No other player that is being considered has gone through what Howard has this season with pretty much everyone being injured at some point this season for the Wings and to turn into the starter over night from the back-up and keep the Wings in the playoff race. Don't get me wrong Duchene and Myers are both great rookie players but for those reasons there i believe Howard should win it.

Zetterberg 65pts in 65GP a healthy Z that starts from game one of the season can hit 100 same from Dats.

The line of Z-Flip-Bert is red hot right now and should not be split and for the Mule-Dats-Homer line you can't ask for a better line Dats is the craziest playmaker in the game everyone knows Homer spends 90% of his shift with his ass in the goalies face and the Mule is just alot more mobile then Homer. I don't see any need to change these top 2 lines at all. If you were to change who would you put in. All year ive been saying when they get healthy Flip,Z and Bert should play together. These top 2 lines we have right now have to be at the top of the league. Bertuzzi ive always liked since he came into the league, and im actually very pleased with big Berts play this season from playing most 3rd and 2nd lines and with all the injuries and the mixing and mashing of different players all season 42 points is awsome. I think once Bert actually playing with Z,Dats and Mule his play has gotten even better, he seems to play alot better when he is with these guys. I don't mean his stats but his actual corner play, his skating and hitting he seems to want to elevate game. Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Zetterberg-Filppula-Bertuzzi Eaves-Hudler-Ritola Draper-Helm-Abdelkader id like to see this happen for line ups might be a LOOONG shot though. Probably only would happen if Lids is gone.Someone know what this would cost ?

After Lidstrom retires who do you think will be named Captain of the team and why ? Datsyuk Zetterberg Franzen Helm Kronwall Stuart Rafalski All of these players have the potential to be Captains of this team.(Datsyuk,Franzen,Zetterberg) all can supply the team with big time goals when needed and have leadership in them. Helm can change the pace of a game all on his own with his speed, hits and big time goals like we seen in the playoffs. (Kronwall,Stuart,Rafalski) all can make big plays whether its from a good breakout pass, shutting down big line players and making big hits. This team is full of leaders just curious to see who you guys think it will be whether you think its one of the guys ive named or someone else. my order would be from my list. Zetterberg Kronwall Datsyuk Rafalski(maybe not just because he is getting up there in age but so was Lids) Stuart Helm Franzen

Ya i never want Lids to retire EVER EVER but i am also curious to see how the team will react with the extra cap to how they will preform i think everyone is going to step up bigtime and should be pretty exciting to see them all rise to the challenge, but again i never want to see him go but its gotta happen sometime.

Today i heard on TV the only thing keeping Howard from winnging is his age being 6 years older then some of the guys. I personally believe he should win not because im a Wings fan but because without Howards play this season we wouldn't be in the position were in now. He went from AHL goalie to NHL starter pretty much over night. With 30 wins already and in the top 5 and 10 for some stats is already outstanding, i think he will finish with 36 wins. Just imagine if he had a healthy team infront of him all season long. Then again he might not have got the chance if Ozzy wasn't getting lit up during our injuries.

I think Stuart Defintly resigns they would be crazy not to resign him. maybe not for as much money but i think he would stay for a little less not much less.

Stuart isn't known for putting up big numbers, his number this year are down but which player on the Wings numbers aren't down. He plays well under pressure has the skill to put up 30-50pts a season and showed it this season with all the injuries.

Agreed Helm and Abby will both wear a letter one day after Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Rafalski are gone i also agree with Flip getting one later on to.

You could also argue though that Franzen and Datsyuk could be "C" if your going by contracts Franzen just signed an 11yr deal Datsyuk is here until 2014 and will be signed again no doubt Zetterberg signed a 12yr deal i still think it will be Zetterberg for "C" not because of his contract but because he is a leader and because of his play. Zetterberg"C" Datsyuk"A" Kronwall"A" Staurt/Franzen"A" maybe both of them who knows

Zetterberg "C" Datsyuk"A" Stuart"A" Kronwall"A" why not have 3 alternates like we do now ? I think Stuart makes a good "A" good leadership skills,can elevate the teams play with his hits and all around good d-man. I do think Dats would have a better chance at the "C" if his english was better because him and Zetterberg are almost exactly the same type of player and person on the ice.

The Wings have been blessed with 2 back to back amazing captains in Yzerman and Lidstrom and those skates will never be filled well at least by the players we have on our roster now, but Zetterberg i do believe is the closest player with great leadership skills. To me the "C" retired with Stevie Y's number

I think it will be one of them to but i also think it could be either Rafalski or Kronwall to. The wings just have alot of Captains in the making on this team

lol i drove 4 hours to see this Wings vs Pens game. It was so worth it from it being an amazing game played by the Wings, to seeing big Bert play like the old Bert, seeing Helm pretty much destroy everything that moved infront of him, the CROSBY SUCKS chants and seeing Jimmmy give it to Crysby was well with the 8 hour trek there and back. Helm actually hammered Gonchar right infront of me and believe me Gonchar was feeling it, the look on his face when he got hit looked like someone kicked him in the balls and he went straight to the bench.

just curious instead of meech being up couldnt we bring up Abby ? I know Abby makes more money but just wondering how close we actually are to the cap.

I heard on the radio the other day that they Yotes were aloud to go over the salary cap this year by Buttman and the NHL is there any truth to this ? and if so does anyone know what it is ?

Come on look at the money we are giving Cleary who has been a GHOST this season and you won't give this kid a chance because he's small and what not i bet this kid could put up more points then some guys in the Wings line up with the wrong handed stick.
