to be honest the only thing i see the wings doing before the deadline is another deal like the leino one. dump a guy like lebda,meech,may and maybe miller for picks just to make more cap space to make room for the regular guys to come back, then in the off-season i can see them making more of a splash when they have like 10 mill cap space and maybe another 7.5 depending on what lidstrom does.

may and lebda won't cut it for afinegenov. its going to have to be say lebda, may and a 4th or 5th rounder, or maybe meech a guy who can play forward and d or prospect and a higher pick like a 2nd or 3rd rounder

rafalski's contract is crazy there is no doubt about that he defintly does not deserve 6 mill a season when lidstrom is only making 7.5 and kronwall is making like 3. kronwall is a better all round defense man then rafalski is, rafalski should be in the 3-4 mill range. i personally would like to see kronwall-lidstrom stuart-rafalski ericsson-lebda/janik/lilja if rafalski had the contract he deserved the wings would have that little extra cap space to play with

ATL-Afinogenov(800K),DAL-eriksson(1.6mill),PHX-upshall (1.5mill),SJ-setoguchi (1.3mill) all good RW that can put the puck in the net. I know setoguchi is a long shot and also eriksson to but you never know SJ could be looking to add some D for a playoff run, they have no problem scoring goals in the playoffs and reg season but its the goaltending, so maybe a guys like stuart,rafalski could be what som contenders are looking for before the playoffs start.I personally think eriksson is the best fit for the wings his style and his play would work perfectly with dats or z. or i would like to see what KH does this off season with a little extra cap space with all our FA and see with big nicks decides to do.

i would like to see personally rafalski moved hes to soft,to many bad passes, not to great in his own end and his contract is crazy, some people might argue my points but lets be honest here a 13 year would look good when you playing with big nick id like to see rafalski gone. ive read a few places that the stars are looking for a new goalie and defense so they might be able to make some kind of deal if thats true. it would be amazing if they did to snag a guy like lui eriksson from the stars only making 1.6mill ! 24 yrs old big,swedish lol, 22G 31A in 58 games i know its a long shot but there has been worse and crazier trades this season already.plus the wings have guys like lilja coming back and janik and kindl ready to step in at anytime.

ya corvo is good. more of an offensive D but would be a good 2nd-3rd liner. id like to see the wings get a good stay at home D takes the body every chance, god i bet you there thinking why did we waive quincy. but a guy like a young pronger or stevens would be nice to have.

if theres any moves made its going to be lebda,meech,may will probably get waived and lieno moved hopefully maltby will stay and finish the year and probably wont be offered a new contract. they might even not offer homer something new if they do it will be for the same price or less. i can't see them giving him more with this stupid cap

rebuild is not the word, renovation maybe is better...if rafalski can get back to his old ways he is still good, you take into consideration that lidstrom is probably done after this year(7mill) and a few other guys like maltby.really this team needs to change a few things maltby,lieno, a new goalie and defense man and we should be alright. ya a pure goal scoring winger would be nice to have also. to bad we could'nt dump osgood and kept conklin he played great for the wings(25w 11L 2t), and just had howard and conklin split the games. but guys like malyby,osgood,may,lebda,meech we could do without

how about dumping rafalski and his 6mill contract to the duck for giguere? he has been reported saying he is frustrated with not being a starter so we swap ducks like there old defense man like the wings and we have giguere and howard as a back up ? just a thought giguere has been to the post season plenty of times and has won a cup.

first off because atlanta is not going to lose kovalchuk for nothing in the off-season,and teams know they only have to offer so much or go to a biding war after the season. second the other defense man that apparently have been offered are phanuef and sopel and rafalski might be older but is still better then the both of them. if you throw in flip and a picks or something your not going to find a better offer then this for example phanuef-joikenen, no thanks sopel-versteeg, no thanks again if i was the thrashers i would rather have rafalski-filpulla/rights to hudler or picks and i'm not saying this is going to happen it is just an idea.cockbag
