regardless rust or whatever you want to call it osgood just doesnt have what it takes to be number 1 anymore. for the past 2 seasons now we have heard all the excuses from osgood it's rust ,not in shape and what not. you've been in the league how long and you can't shake rust after 1or 2 games and you don't know what it takes to get in shape for a season?. come on, i like osgood he was awsome for us in the past but everyone can see he's just to slow up and down and side to side. i don't know i just dont see the passion when he's in the net. i personally think howard has played worthy of the starting role

lebda,meech,filpula(depending on who it gets us ),rights to hudler,stuart same as filpula,rafalski maybe. everybody is tradeable minus(datsyuk,franzen,zetterberg,lidstrom and maybe holmstrom) i'd like to see the wings get a guy like loui eriksson (1.5 cap 21G 27A 52GP) that would give dallas a little something more down the middle and especially since modano could be near the end. maybe send filpula(3mill),the rights to hudler even, and pick from lebda,meech,lieno,and or picks. he would be a great fit in D big guy RW and can put the puck in the net and not to mention swedish lol. just a thought! holmstrom-datsyuk-eriksson cleary-zetterberg-franzen williams-abdelkader-bertuzzi draper-helm-eaves not in line-up maltby,may,leino,filppula anyways just a little idea id like to see the wings do something, a little bit of a shake up maybe thats what they will need to get them going.

Souray said he would be willing to waive his NTC also.holmstrom is a free agent along with a few other,(meech,lebda,lidstrom,maltby). id like a few guys off the oilers, if the wings trade or dont resign holstrom(age:36) dustin penner 21G-20A lidstrom retires or resigns cheap, we could take souray/visnovsky other guys you would fit nice on the wings patty o'sullivan,hemsky theres to many to list.

exactly osgood has played like s*** the past 2 seasons straight. So your telling me that just because staurt gets burned osgood cant make the stop ? so why not have an empty net then if he cant stop those chances?. i agree i dont like the oilers either and yes penners contract is big but the guy does have 41pts this season and is playing with no one near as good as zetterberg or datsyuk and is a big guy for the front of the net and getting in on the forcheck and hammering D. i think he would fit good on the 2nd line say with cleary and zetterberg.

datsyuk is use to playing with franzen the closest thing the wings have to a pure goal scorer !...zetterberg is awsome but both ways not a sniper kinda way, pav played alot last year with franzen and hossa so his numbers went crazy. the wings need a pure goal scorer for pav its probably a 1 in a million shot but imagine if pav had kovalchuk or a guy like that to play with every game...on another note i think the should get helm working with pav in practice if helm was a better finisher with his speed he would terrorize defense.

like i said there is an interview with kovalchuk saying he not in it for the money he just wants the years so i agree with you on that atlanta is regardless losing him come the end of the season, so teams arent gonna offer a datsyuk for kovalchuk when you can snag him in the offseason it comes down to who can offer the best non superstars and young guys

ya chicago could do it but they would be worse off then detriot they would need to move sharp versteeg,sopel and baker or another guy just to make the room but could never afford to resign him next season so it would be dumb for them to move out those guys for one season. the wings on the other hand could move flip,holmstrom,lebda,meech and it wouldnt matter 3 are free agents at the end of the year anyway and if lidstrom retires we have an easier time resignin kovy or lidtrom signs a 1yr-1mill

see i have heard different stories about kovy there was an interview with him sayin he has enough money its not about the money he wants long term and then ive heard he wants like 10yrs/10mill which i think is just to bust atlantas balls like f*** you im not signing type of thing but if the wings pulled it off i cant see him turning down like a 7yr-7mill contract to play on a contender every year and the chance to play with other type guys in the league i think if he had that choice he'd be all over it
