Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Franzen-Filppula-Hudler Cleary-Modano-Bertuzzi Eaves-Abdelkader-Helm PP1 Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Lidstrom-Rafalski PP2 Franzen-Filppula-Hudler Kronwall-Modano YESSSSS PLEASE!!!!! Modano #91 While the Detroit Red Wings continue to pursue unrestricted free agent Mike Modano, the NHL's All-Time leading scorer amongst American-born players has yet to make a decision on his future. "They're selling it pretty hard," Modano told ESNPDallas.com. "Having a team like Detroit really interested in me is flattering. I could have some fun playing with some great players and a great organization. There's a lot of upside to it. But for me, I need to figure out in my head what I want to do." A native of nearby Livonia, Michigan, the 40-year old Modano has spent his entire 20 year NHL career with the Stars organization, helping the team capture the lone Stanley Cup title in franchise history in 1999. He was informed by the Stars last week that he would not be offered a contract for the upcoming season, however Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk kept the door open to a possible return to the organization for Modano in an executive level. Modano had 14 goals and 16 assists in 59 games with the Stars last season. In 1459 career games he has 557 and 802 assists. "He's a local boy, a Hall of Famer, yeah, I'm interested," Detroit general manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press last week. "We've had good success through the years in getting the most out of players that are nearing the end."

Holland thinks he is close to signing Eaves, Miller, and Meech
king_malice replied to CenterIce's topic in General
I personally dont mind Meech he did ok for us last season in the games he got into, i think i just like having him because he can fill a hole upfront or in the back, but if we had to let some guys go id let Lebda,Meech,Miller and Lils go -
Could this season get any worse for us ? injuries all season long, bad playoff run, Probby dies, Stevie Y leaves.....this has been a nightmare!
-
Terrible day, hopefully the Wings do something to honor him next season all time best tough guy, not to many guys can put up 74GP 29G 33A 62PTS 398PIMS regular season, 16GP 8G 13A 21PTS 55PIMS in the playoffs, i would kill to have a young Probby on this team now. On a lighter note check out this video of Probert V. Domi II, we al know the belt motion Domi did after there first fight well check out Stevie Y at around 1:35 R.I.P Probby

depending on Howards season im going to say somewhere around 1.5-2.5 maybe something like 3yrs 6mill if he has a good season unless both sides want to do a long term deal 5+ years, but most goalies dont get the big numbers and the long term deals, like i said its all going to come down to how he does this season
-
Seabrook would be a great fill if Lids retires and Hawks are still in cap trouble Seabrook-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Kindl-Ericcson or whatever our 3rd pairing will be
-
stealing my ideas....tisk tisk tisk lol
-
ya same, i wasnt a fan of Exelby but he is growing on me plus this is just awsome
-
jack johnson has a 1.65mill cap hit, i heard Kings want to move him though because they said they wont be able to sign both Doughty and Johnson so they dont want to lose him for less then they can get in a trade
-
Chirelli and Chara met today for the 2nd time to talk about a ext. Chirelli said there going to talk again soon. I dont think its going to be bad, well losing Lids is going to be but 100% Holland has to go out and bring someone in to fill his spot.....well i sure hope he does anyway
-
D in 2011 UFA just to name a few Chara Jovanovski Markov Hannan Erhoff Pitkanen RFA is STACKED.....Id pay the price of draft picks for the bolded guys for sure if Lidstrom retires......but i highly doubt there teams let them go, hopefully CHI is still in cap trouble Weber Seabrook Doughty Schenn Bogosian Yandle Polak Forwards Gagne(if he can stay healthy this year maybe) David Backes could be solid, right handed shot
-
how about Shane Hnidy ? 6'2 210lbs 70gp 14pts last season 750k (#34 bruins)could be alright on the 3rd pairing
-
heard Kovy turned down LA today and Eklund just posted it to wonder if its true!
-
Just curious who you guys think will win a Cup next Holland or Yzerman, and post reasons if you want
-
actually smart guy who thinks he knows everything, if you did you would know that Ryan got offered 5yrs and that was the problem the 5-6mill is fine he and his agent have said he wants a 2-3 yr deal with the Ducks not a long term one.
-
Surprisingly, the Gagne stuff does not appear to be about a goalie....Not Thomas, and Not Nabokov (who I now feel is heading to Russia) I don't think it's about Kovalchuk (could always be) ...I believe, this is all about Bobby Ryan...that would be my guess. The Flyers rarely ask players to waive NTC. This is only the second time I can remember them doing so (They asked JR to waive when they signed Forsberg). Ed Snider is old school and very loyal. He would only go to Gagne if he had something definitive that he couldn't pass up. Eklund

i heard from a few places that it could be a 3 way trade with him LA,BOS,PHI rumor is LA wants to move Jack Johnson because they feel they wont be able to sign him when him and Doughty become FA, and the other thing is Gange will go to LA if LA gets Kovy, what i heard not saying its going to happen but here it is To LA : Gange To Bos : Johnson To Phi : Tim Thomas only if they feel they cant negotiate a deal with Nabby those are the "main" players ive heard but could be some prospects or picks involved

DarrenDreger One source suggests the Isles offer to be $10 mil x 10 yrs. Yikes!
-
Dreger reported a NHL source said Isles deal to Kovy is 10yrs x10mill
-
Darren Drager just said that the Hawks offered Ladd 1.65mill, but he also says Ladd still seems likely to be traded. Just wondering if you guys think we should try and trade for him i personally like his style, tough guy to play against will drop the gloves and can put up points. Hawks will probably want picks though saying they are still tight to the Cap, so i was thinking with our little Cap space should we go for it? maybe something like this ? 2010-11 DETROIT RED WINGS LEFT WING CENTER RIGHT WING Johan Franzen ($4.0m) Henrik Zetterberg ($6.1m) Tomas Holmstrom ($1.9m) Jiri Hudler ($2.9m) Pavel Datsyuk ($6.7m) Todd Bertuzzi ($1.9m) * Andrew Ladd ($2.0m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.0m) Daniel Cleary ($2.8m) Kris Draper ($1.6m) * Darren Helm ($1.0m) * Justin Abdelkader ($1.0m) * Patrick Eaves ($0.6m) LEFT DEFENSE RIGHT DEFENSE Brad Stuart ($3.8m) Brian Rafalski ($6.0m) Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.2m) Niklas Kronwall ($3.0m) Jonathan Ericsson ($0.9m) Jakub Kindl ($0.9m) Doug Janik ($0.5m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($0.7m) Chris Osgood ($1.4m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (compiled using the bonus cushion) ROSTER: 22; CAP: $59.4m; PAYROLL: $58.763m; CAP ROOM: $0.637m BONUSES: $0.000m

- Speaking of Chicago, it sounds like Andrew Ladd is still available and a lot of teams are interested in him, including the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers. A longshot team in this is Buffalo. hockeyleaks.com

TSNBobMcKenzie For the right price, DET is a team that may have some interest in Mike Modano. Wouldn't that be interesting? Hometown boy and all. about 3 hours ago via web
