is there a deadline for a contract ? just curious because we havent heard that they have accepted or declined or anything it just seems weird its been a couple weeks now and no news about it. I think they only players who would get offer sheets are Abby and Helm but like drake said nothing Kenny couldnt match.

LOL you are one of the biggest douches on this site, i said Spezza was good offensivly and i also said maybe his lack of effort was do to the fact that he has wanted out of Ottawa for the last couple years, and i never said we would get him at 2mill i used the number as an example.

just because he was on a high scoring team doesnt mean he is going to automatically put up big numbers, look at brendan morrison on the Caps only had 40 pts and hes on the same team as ovi,semin,backstrom

First off never once did i say he was a "scorer" i said he hits,is a fast skater, good on the PK and will fight when needed, then i said he also puts up number anf for playing on the 3rd line 38pts isnt bad. With Bert almost finished he could easily move into the 2nd line. All i was saying we have guys like Eaves,Miller,Abby,Helm Ladd plays almost the same style but he is better offensively, dont get me wrong i dont want to get rid of Abby or Helm and i like Eaves and Miller but I personally think Ladd would be better then Eaves and Miller.

Ladd put up better numbers then every player you just listed,38pts this season 49 last season playing 3rd line mins, id have Ladd on this team over Miller any day and for you to call Miller tough is pretty funny . maybe your the one with the glasses on Why ? what is the purpose of adding a "big mean guy" that doesnt score much, so we get to see more fights throughout the season and then have him scratched all playoffs long ?

ill take Ladd over a fighter/enforcer any day of the week, i dont get why everyone wants one so bad, its hard to find one that actually gets to play in the playoffs or that can put up numbers in the season and if these players do exist teams rarely let them walk.

Those type of players very rarely work out and they are usually old, Ladd is only 25, he's a fast skater, good on the PK, throws his body around and can put up numbers. Plus id rather bring in a younger guy and have him here for a while then bring in a older player who is here 1 year or something then we have to replace them next season.

Riley Sheahan, a potential first round pick in 2010, and Kyle Palmieri, a first-round selection of the Anaheim Ducks at last year's draft, are now facing charges, according to the South Bend Tribune. Sheahan, 18, is charged with public intoxication and minor alcohol consumption, while 19-year-old Palmieri is charged with two counts of resisting arrest and minor alcohol consumption. According to a police report, an officer saw Palmieri, Sheahan and a third person standing in the back of a pickup truck at approximately 2:30am et on Sunday. When approached by an officer, Palmieri tried to run away, which led to a struggle, the paper reported. Then Palmieri allegedly reached for the officer's Taser. The Tribune reported that the police said tests showed Palmieri's blood-alcohol level to be .10 percent and Sheahan's to be .12. Palmieri was the 26th overall pick in the 2009 draft. Sheahan, of St. Catharines, Ontario, is the 22nd-ranked North American skater in the Central Scouting final rankings, having previously been fifth in the midterm rankings. I just read he thinks the Caps are going to trade Semin for Broduer straight up, Broduer is still a great goalie but why would the Caps trade one of there best young forwards for a goalie that has 1 maybe 2 more years left. If this deal happens the Caps are making a big mistake 40G 44A in 73GP this season 34G 45A in 62GP last year Here is the scenario as it appears to be starting to come together. 1. The Devils want to keep Kovalchuk. 2. Martin Brodeur is not a given to keep playing much longer, and will be hired the second he retires to work in the Devils front office. 3. Kovalchuk would consider staying if the Devils would go out and get Semin to play with him. 4. Brodeur would agree to play one (possibly 2) years in Washington. Firming up their goaltending situation and making the Caps the HUGE favorite to win a Stanley Cup. Then he could return to work for the Devils, who would be in a much better situation. 5. Semin is a great player, but the Caps are not opposed to moving him for Brodeur. Interestingly, the Caps signed him to a very short deal.
