I agree. Congrats to the Americans. It was one hell of a game, but the better team won. If the wings could block shots like that then we wouldn't lose a game. You guys took it on our ice, but we will be back for revenge next year in Buffalo. Oh and the Olympics, thats ours too Once again Congrats!

I don't think there should be 3 points awarded for a win. I am a huge soccer fan and in a game like soccer there are much less games and depending on the league other then the top 3-4 teams and the bottom 3-4, there usually isnt much compeition for the middle of the back. In the NHL there are too many games to play for 3 points to be awarded. 2 points makes it very exciting and very tight with teams competing for playoffs look at the west, 3rd to 10th is a 7 point difference. I think 2 points for a win is fine when you play 82 games. Loses, now it doesn't matter how many extra minutes you play, you should never be awarded for a loss. I think the 1 point for an OTL is absolutely ridiculous!

Very Great find, but the scenario we were in in 2007-2008 was different then now, I can't tell you exactly, but im pretty sure we were in the top 3, we could afford to switch goalies. 2009-2010 were in between 7-10 with so many injuries, we can't really take out a goalie who is playing well for a goalie who just doesn't seem to have it anymore. I do think Ozzie will get it back, he is just a bit frustrated then when he plays he plays the good teams. I don't like that either but thats what I've noticed. Once this team is healthy and hopefully in a better playoff position I do see Ozzie starting more regardless of how hot howard is playing.

If one day Helm can get a pair of hands on him that can finish on regular occasion he will be the best player ever! Okay maybe not, but I can dream can't I?

I like Afinogenov too. I think he could of been a lot better then what he is now, but he never had the motivation. Too bad he doesn't play for the Wings he could of done amazing with Datsyuk.

Howard is getting the job done, He has played less games then Nabokov, and Broduer, but the fact that he is even close to them means something. We got a great kid in net. Everyone says Detroit doesn't have a goalie. Well they are wrong. We got exactly what we need, a goalie getting the job done in the regular season, and another that flips the switch in the playoffs. In my opinion with the injuries this team has right now Jimmy Howard has done great, and really I don't have a doubt that if the Wings didn't have all these injuries that Howard could be top 5 in the league right now in goalie standings. We are playing much better defensively because the team knows that Howard can handle it. Now imagine how well he would play with Ericsson, Kronwall, and even Lilja at the back instead of Meech, Lebda and Janik. He was raw early on in the season which is why he didn't do that great when Kronwall and Ericsson were not injured, but now he has the confidence. I believe in this kid, hes going to have a good number of NHL games under his belt this year, and hopefully get something in the playoffs, depending on how Ozzie feels during playoffs. This team may be struggling this year. But next year we will be right back at the top. With a Solid goalie in net.

Your right, Franzens return is the one were all waiting for, but sadly its still a good bit away. At least in this month we should get everyone else back. Franzen will be like a trade deadline addition without giving anyone up.

This guy is getting the Job done and that's what matters. He started the season slow, but what do you expect from a rookie? Now he is stealing games for us. He is playing very good and we still don't have our best players back. Once Kronwall, Zetterberg, Cleary, and Ericsson get back this team will be much better defensively. Hopefully Jimmy will play this well with less action when these guys come back. If Lilja happens to come back this year he would be make us even better on the back end. I hope Jimmy continues to play like this when everyone comes back and we have a full team.

We need to finish this year on a high note. Colorado have been playing well lately, but after our loss vs Columbus in which Howard stood on his head on the rest of the team couldn't put the puck in the net I expect a little more from our offense in a way to thank Howard for winning them at least a point. 3-1 Wings Draper, Filppula, Bertuzzi
