I know Babcock loves the vets,but Tatar absolutely earned a spot.It's pretty tough to be a youngster in a Wings locker room that's for sure."Luckily" we're short of quality D men,otherwise Danny D would be already in Grand Rapids.

Wasn't sold on Tatar earlier,but he answered the critics from Babs for not engage every shift during the Calder Cup run.He's a bit cocky kid,but wasn't Cleary the same during his early years

Veteran presence in the locker room is a good thing,but when you add Alfie to the group of Hank,Pavs,Bert,Kronner,Miller Cleary is simply not needed anymore.

Both Tatar and Nyqiust were loyal for playing in the minors for years on ELC instead of choosing petrol $$$ from KHL at first.They led the underdog Grand Rapids team to the Calder Cup so any thoughts about some washed up veteran taking their spot makes me puke. Nothing against veterans in general,but those two kids should be a priority.

I don't get it.We had the best Playoffs run since '09 playing the kids mostly and suddenly we're loaded with the vets again.

Great players,but not the leaders in my opinion. Yes,they dive,but so does Jimmy Howard and we don't have problem with that

Our team Medvešćak Zagreb played against CSKA Moscow here in Croatia a couple of days ago and the plane with CSKA team landed somewhere in SW Russia ans stayed over night due technical issues. I mean the rich owners are gonna pay crazy money to the likes of Kovalchuk and co. and save on the planes...wtf ...and the most scared fact...Fedorov was on that plane(as the CSKA's GM)

Can't blame Holland neither.He has two prospects(Nyquist and Tatar) as good as Brunner that were busting their ass in the AHL for years just to see the 3rd line minutes. Brunner is a good player no doubt,but to guarantee him top 6 spot after an inconsistent season would send a bad message to the rest of our prospects group.

Not gonna make some bold prediction,but the fact that the team has solved 2/3 needs is very encouraging.I'm talking about Alfie and Weiss as legitimate top 6 forwards.We are still one top 2 D-man missing,but think we're gonna develop him from within rather than acquiring one via trade. Really hope the kids are gonna get the chance,nothing against veteran presence,but there's enough already...so hopefully goodbye to Sammy and Cleary Z-Datsyuk-Alfie Nyquist-Weiss-Franzen Abdel-Helm-Tatar Miller-Andy-Eaves Kronner-Deke Kindl-Eric Smith-Q

And it was really joy to watch ...but the point is that the Pens played on the tougher and bigger card by adding Iginla,Morrow and Murray at the trade deadline and still got swept by the Bruins.Wouldn't mind to see those players here,but there's no a guarantee the Wings are gonna be a better team.
