Agree,not many goalies around the league could compete with Dom in'02 for real,but Manny could find himself a starting job elsewhere easy so it's still a healthy competition,definitely bigger then Jimmy has with Ozzie and Joey Mac atm. Back in '02.Using one of his favorite quotes about putting the best team together,Ken waived his 'son' Osgood,to make a room for Dom.I'm wondering why he didn't pull even much lower risk move with Vokoun Of course you're not the only one. I'm fine with Jimmy as a starter,but if he's gonna s*** his pants about any quality goalie backing him up,like it should be case with Nabokov then I'm scared

It did work with Dan Cleary,beside Lang was traded at the age of 33 and Semin is still relatively young to learn.

I've already mentioned I'd take a risk on Semin.He'd probably cost us in the range of Burns (Flip/Huds+prospect+pick),but we don't have better scoring winger not named Franzen atm.Ok Pulkkinen could be stellar,but he's 3-4 years away from the Wings roster. He's soft and bad defensively,but is there a better team to learn a two way hockey than the Wings?Might be a jackpot if he's able to click with Datsyuk and if not we could shop him at the trade deadline.A 27 years old Russian sniper should still have high value.

It's not about Stevie,it's more about Stamkos's agent. He suppose to be a pretty tough negotiator.Big E among some other Wings(Nick,Bert,Abby)is under his agency and that says a lot ...and Brad Marchand as well

Agree,otherwise they've shopped both Filppula and Hudler at the draft. Still pretty surprised no one took Hudler,cause he had similar season like Leino here and we know how it worked for the Flyers.
