Teams can elect to charge salary bonuses to the season in which they were earned if they are under the cap by at least the amount of the bonus. If that would put them over the cap, the team must elect to take the cap hit the following season. -

.68 pts a game for both Flip & Weiss over that period & Weiss managed to do that while playing center. The only reason Flip did is that we was switched to the wing. Flip can't carry a line offensively as a center where Weiss can. -

Capgeek is wrong then. Bonuses from one year don't impact the salary cap until the year after. -

Don't forget too that the bonus money won't impact the 2013-14 season. If hit, they would apply to 2014-15. -

Last I've seen is that the Wings have increased their offer to a 3 year deal but Dallas is offering more money. -
I do believe his agent was pretty up front on the fact that they did want to go to market but they would loop back with Kenny to match/beat offers.

Have a feeling the organization is taking the approach of seeing who plays their way onto the roster in camp & will make adjustments (trades, waivers) before the start of the season. I would think the bubble players would be the Eaves, Emmertons, Tootoos, Tatars, Samuelssons, etc. FYI: Nick Kypreos @RealKyper1m Now a domino game. #Stars offer better for Dan Cleary than #Redwings. If he leaves for a payday, I will only refer to Flip as Marty Lapointe 2.0 from here on out. -
And at 40, his 26 points this past season would have tied him w/ Brunner for the 4th highest scoring forward on the team with a fairly sizable drop to the next in line which was Flip with 17. Edit: That said, I really don't see him playing anywhere other than with the Sens.

According to Helene St. James, Cleary's got up to a dozen teams interested in signing him. Maybe Nill will grab him to play with his buddy Horcoff when that trade's final. On the Briere front, very glad that Kenny stayed away based on that cap hit. Well, one of the reasons I'm glad he stayed away.

I believe the guy to Kenny's left is Joe McDonnell, Director of Amateur Scouting, and to Drapes' right is Ryan Martin. I would think the guy next to McDonnell is another scout, just don't know which one. -
