I would think just having to stay in Columbus another night would sap all of the life out of them.
-
He did. It's my understanding that the Wings took Tollefson as a way to keep the Flyers under the roster limit in order to pull off the deal. Never really had any plans for him from what I remember. Edit: And if I remember correctly, didn't he have a bunch of knee & concussion problems that season too?

Definitely hear you there. Tough to give up on a guy who was your highest draft pick in a decade & still hasn't hit the age when most d-men in the league "get it" according to most experts. In a way, what Kindl is going through is similar to Huds imo. Happy needed to be a top 6 forward to be effective, yet year after year the attitude seemed to be that he had to prove his worth on the bottom 6. To say that didn't fit his wheelhouse would be an understatement. Round peg meet square hole.
-
And that's going to take consistent ice time if Babcock will give it to him. Either way, it's going to be an interesting off season given how many UFAs/RFAs the Wings will have. Kindl might not be the only one facing a make or break year when it comes to staying in the Winged Wheel.

Won't happen this season. Teams had to use their one accelerated buyout prior to the start of the season. If Q's bought out, it will have to be this summer.
-
Pav's goals are extra special & they count for 2 points intead of 1? Or it could be that the assist leaders for the Wings are Pav, Hank, & Kronner with 4 each.
-
I wouldn't call White untouchable given that he's a UFA at the end of the season. If the Wings are out of the race & a team wants to pick him up for the stretch run or playoffs, flip him for an extra pick or prospect if possible.

Comments I've seen state it's nothing to do with Lashoff, it's just wanted to get more of a look at Kindl in game action.
-
Seen multiple sources already that Big Rig is back in tonight & Kindl in for Lashoff. Can't link to them from work but two of the sources I've seen are Khan's, Helene's, & Kulfan's twitter feeds within the last 20 minutes or so.

But to address the "little diversity in the farm system" comment that was brought up, currently on the GR roster: 7 of 11 forwards (not counting Hoggan & Grant) are listed at 6'+. The 4 remaining are your "next-up forwards" in Nyquist & Tatar, Francis Pare, & Luke Glendening who I really wouldn't call a prospect, certainly not one with any expectations to make the big club. So really 70% of the Wing's forward prospects in GR don't project out to that typical 5'10" 160-180 lbs under-sized skill player. Now adding in prospects outside of GR: "Under-sized skilled" adds Jarnkrok (5'11"), Pulkkinen (5'11") 6'+ adds Frk (6'), Tvrdon (6'2"), Athanasiou (6'), Quine (6'), Bodin (6'6"), Hudon (6'), Nestasil (6'2"), and maybe Parkes (6'1") Quite a bit more size in the farm team with the past few drafts then the Wings typically have imo And since you asked, GMR.... North Americans includes Sheahan, Pare, Callahan, Aubry, Ferraro, & Raedeke in GR. Outside of that, you have Athanasiou, Hudon, Parkes, & Quine who are all 6'+, And just my opinion, but the next ones that will see time in Detroit after Nyquist & Tatar will be Sheahan, Andersson, & Ferraro in that order. I will add though that the Wing's two best hitters in the forward ranks are listed at 5'11" & 5'9" respectively, so ya never know.
-
Like a 6' 200 lbs Mitch Callahan, 6'2" 207 Joakim Anderson, 6'2" 212 Riley Sheahan, 6'4" 208 Louis-Marc Aubry, or 6'2" Tomas Jurco in GR? Maybe add a 6' 193 Martin Frk, 6'2" 217 Marek Tvrdon, 6'2" 200 Andrej Nestrasil, or 6'6" 207 Rasmus Bodin to that list? And that's just on the forward front. Time will tell how they all develop but overall, I think Kenny & the staff have been doing a pretty bang up job in mixing in more size to the prospect pool in the last few drafts.

Sidney Crosby's playoff "beard" -
He named his skates Jack?

If the biggest controversy about the Brunner signing is how to pronounce his name correctly, I'm OK with that.
-
According to this, it is indeed BrOO-ner George Malik@georgemalik That Damien Brunner *very quietly* admitted that it is indeed BROOner. So Ken Daniels has switched. Und mein Deutsch ist noch gut! https://twitter.com/georgemalik/status/295025938519973889
-
Unless it's the Wings that have the 5 on 3 it seems.
-
Whatever happens, DO NOT let the Mule become Brunner's mentor on the team.
-
Personally, I'm hoping to see Zach Parcheesi get Kronwalled.
-
The reports of the Wings death may have been greatly exaggerated.
-
Coincidence that the Wings are looking much better tonight? The same night that Darren Helm returns to the lineup? I think not....
-
Zach Parcheesi?
-
Would it be inappropriate to say that Harding looks a little shaky tonight? Too soon?
