Dominik Hasek's agent: "He will play, and he will excel"
ogreslayer replied to REDHASEK's topic in General
Say what??? -
The prospect that intrigues me on d is Nicastro out of Boston U. 6'3" & 210 already and supposedly a banger along with having some pretty good offensive skill too. If he impresses in camp & in the first part of the season in GR, I could see him jumping into that first call-up spot if the big club needs bodies.
-
I believe he's set to go back for 1 more season in the OHL this year so the wheels would have to completely fall off for him to see time with the big club this year. I would think the next call-up from GR if needed will be Lashoff.

Garth Snow's going to beat him to it & sign him to a 15 year deal. How often do the Islanders get a chance at a guy with Dom's credentials after all. -
Technically, the players can't initiate a lockout. They don't have the keys so to speak. They can strike, not lock out.

Just sharing this if you haven't seen it yet. Take a look at the very end of the video for a little something special from Tomas Jurco: http://video.redwing...bed-share-video

If the Wings pay for his plastic surgery, would it count against the cap?

Which one supposedly has ties to the Russian mob? Whichever one it is, the other guy is worse.

Teemu Selanne re-signs with Ducks, 1 year, $4.5m contract
ogreslayer replied to Jedi's topic in General
Should we turn this into a "I don't care if he was only interested in signing with the Ducks, Kenny should have gone after him!" thread? Nah, probably not. It's nice to see Teemu going for another year though. Would expect he'll still be in the top 3 in goals & points for the Ducks again this season. -
Sweet zombie jesus, I just don't get all of this angst over what Holland is saying in the media. His comments always strike me as the GM equivalent of a players "We just have to skate hard & put more pucks on net" cliched answer to a reporter's question. Just the typical hockey answer meant to not give too much away. While I can't guarantee that the message being sent behind the scenes in the organ-i-zation are vastly different from what Kenny's saying in public, I would still rather hear him talk like this to the media then take a "We're screwed! Close all the shops in the mall! Cancel the 3 ring circus! The sky is falling!" approach to sound bites about the roster. Yeah, if he did that, he would really attract the UFAs then wouldn't he? Edit: I'm sure that would endear him to the players currently on the roster too.
-
Hire him on as a media liaison so he can still hang around the lockerroom & be all over 24/7 too. Perfect fit for sure.
-
I know there's been a Chicago beat writer that keeps calling of the Hawks to sign him. Whatever happens, please god, no Homer to the Hawks. With as many forwards as the Wings are carrying now, I don't see a spot for him unless Kenny pulls off a trade soon. Even then, I'm not sure there's a spot for him.
-
And I would bet good money that he's not even the front runner to replace Kenny at this point. That would be one Mr. Jim Nill unless he jumps at another GM spot in the next couple-few years.
-
Minnesota? I thought he went to Calgary already.

I'm afraid you didn't put the proper consideration into the fact that Smith will be beat out for all of those by Barret Jackman

Because if he turns out to be as lazy & selfish as reported & the Wings wouldn't want him back after 1 season, teams would be falling over themselves to grab his UFA rights early huh?
-
Rumors are that he was on the trade block last season so I doubt him being captain would make the front office hesitate to trade him. They would just turn around & give the C to Jamie Benn probably.
-
Oh, designated driver. I thought you said designated diver & was all...Wait! Shouldn't that be Devin Setoguchi?
-
Not very if the greatest prospect pool of all time is only listed at #4. And that is what the Ignore feature is for
-
Are you sure you're not seeing Gregory Campbell who happened to re-sign in Boston as a UFA? Brian Campbell is locked up to what was seen as an albatross of a contract (at least while he was in Chicago) as already mentioned.

Last I saw, even the richest team in the KHL (SKA St. Petersburg) has said they're not interested in Semin. I think that speaks volumes.
-
Hoping that either way, this is the last reference we have to testicles & Semin in the same post.
