Is there a little known rule the Wings could use to just decline power plays & have 2 minutes taken off the clock?
-
Per Helene St. James on twitter, Joey Mac is getting the start tonight.

Having to wait until the off-season should certainly open up the number of teams that might be interested in Nash. Wonder who will be willing to give up the farm to get him given what the free agent market will look like. I don't think Kenny will bite & instead lock in on Parise...I hope...

I do wonder if the high price Nashville paid for Gaustad was in order to drive Kenny away. -

Evidently the Sharks are all but out too. C'bus was asking for Couture and the Sharks won't part with him. -

Helene St. James just sent a tweet out that another d-man is "banged up" so Kindl & Smith might both be in tomorrow. Hopefully "another d-man" isn't Stewie & "banged up" doesn't mean traded. -

FYI, Smith's been called up & will be playing on Tuesday so maybe there might be something to the Stewie rumors. -
If the new CBA includes a reduction/restructuring of the cap, there more than likely would be a buyout process that teams would use to get under it so I don't think next year's cap will serve as a hindrance. Who knows, maybe Kenny would decide to buy out Franzen after trading for someone who will actually play like he gives a s*** for 82 games a season.
-
Or that means they were trying to showcase him for a potential trade.
-
I'll take Smith instead
-
Was it Babs or Kenny that mentioned last week that they wanted to get Smith some playing time up with the big club before the end of the season? I think this guarantees Smith will see action soon rather than later now.
-
So Huds, Bert, & Flip for the shootout? I'm calling Bert for the winner with the spin-o-rama.
-
I think the Wings might just have found a new 1st line. Play 'em Mike!
-
I hesitate to say it but...healthy scratch for an upcoming trade?

Pretty sure it's based on when they signed their entry level contract. Edit: More detail... Exempt Due to Experience This is the meat and potatoes of determining waiver eligibility. Three key factors determine whether a player is waiver eligible; age, years of experience, and # of games played.. Age is defined as the age of the player when he signs his entry-level contract with an NHL club. This is used to determine the thresholds for the players' waiver eligibility. The thresholds are the number of years from signing a professional contract, and the number of professional games played. Depending on the age as determined above, a player is waiver eligible for a certain number of years from the year in which he signed his first contract, as shown below. Goalies Skaters Age Years Age Years 18 6* 18 5* 19 5* 19 4* 20 4 20 3 21 4 21 3 22 4 22 3 23 3 23 3 24 2 24 2 25+ 1 25+ 1

At the very least, I would love to see some Miller time or Abby on the 2nd line in favor of Cleary until he's closer to 100%.
-
The way the PP has been looking, I consider that a wash. In fact, a Helm penalty shot might be better. Can't give up a short-handed breakaway on a penalty shot after all.

Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

That idea is certainly intriguing now. Maybe a sign & trade w/ Stuart to a west coast team for a top 6 winger? -

I hope we're getting something more back than just Quincey for that 1st rounder, like TB's 2nd or 3rd. Seems like a high price to pay for just him imo. Edit: So the Wings send their 1st & Piche to TB. -
Sadly, I think you're right.
-
I have a feeling our D-man "acquisition" for the playoffs will be Smith. Guaranteed he'll be a Black Ace & I think the chances are pretty good he'll see some time in the line-up over Kindl or Commie.
-
Wonder if this game wasn't against a Central rival whether Z would sit this one out.
-
I'm going to pretend that's just Kenny kicking the tires to see what the market is like & that he's really not that interested in Kubina.
-
Don't believe so. If he has, he hasn't made it into a game.
-
Why wonder when you can use this: http://www.edzobingo.com/ and piece together what he would say on your own. My own attempt is that he would say that "All those young players out there on the Blackhawks need to keep their active sticks on the ice, get the puck in deep & use their speed to the outside to go hard to the net." See, it's easy.
