Don't stop believing...that someone will actually want to buy this team...
-
And evidently he was benched during his first preseason game for yelling at a ref & was suspended for the second game. Doesn't sound like his attitude is getting any better. He'll never wear the Winged Wheel.
-
The Mouthguardian? Wasn't that one of the really bad team inspired super-heroes the NHL had Stan Lee create last year?
-
Rumor has it that an offer was even floated to Toronto & they passed. I mean what the hell, they signed Lebda of all people & even they didn't want Happy.

Personally, I would have Jim Hughson in the top 10 at least. -
I'll see your bold prediction & raise with this one... Smith's hat trick will be for the LA Kings, as he will be traded in a package deal for rfa Drew Doughty after a lengthy holdout.

Bravo to you sir! Bravo I say!

A contract offer made crosses that line from perusing to targeting someone, at least by definition. Perusing=reading or studying with care Targeting=To take aim at with an intended goal Perusing="Sure Tomas, we'll take a look at whether we have a place on the team for you & get back to you..." Targeting="Tomas, here's the contract we want to offer you as a backup to Jimmy Howard..." It's actually more appropriate to say that the Wings perused Tomas Fleischmann as a potential free agent pickup as all they did in that case was study up on his health issues & then determine not to offer him a contract. In Vokoun's case, by all counts, Kenny did offer him a contract.
-
I also thought the extra days were added to give the coaching staff additional time with the prospects.
-
No, one wouldn't have to include Grigorenko in this discussion since the comment was about the potential line-up in the 90's. Grigorenko was drafted in 2001.
-
From mlive... From that, I would say it was a little bit more discussion then Vokoun's agent just reaching out to gauge interest.
-
Vokoun was on that list too, wasn't he?
-
From what I saw, they looked at him but weren't convinced that the whole health scare with the pulmonary embolism was a thing of the past. Don't believe Kenny even extended an offer.
-
Yup. Got a 5th rounder & Ole-Kristian Tollefsen for Leino.
-
Ritola was a straight waiver pick up, not a trade.

No harm, no foul to bring him into camp for a tryout imo.

It's all about the type of injuries though, as some people have pointed out already. Z's dealing with a bad back, but it's not like the Wings just lost their the second leading scorer on defense for the past 4 years running to a surprise retirement partly due to ongoing back problems right? Broken bones are one thing. Chronic back troubles are something entirely different.

Well that really wasn't the question was it? I didn't think the question was all that difficult to understand, it was just who would you take if you could only have one of them. Answering "trade Franzen" to that question is like answering "Well, I'll have the chicken then please" when asked if you want cake or death. If you want to inject other "what if's" into it though, I'll play along. How about instead of trading Franzen off to clear cap space, we put Huds & a couple of free weights from the training room in a burlap sack & throw them in the river to clear up cap space? Thank you for flying Church of England...cake or death?

What is this, Sophie's Choice? If forced to pick one, I would keep Pavs. The back problems Hank deals with do not bode well for the future I'm afraid.

Another prediction from me.... -Eva will continue to misunderstand that to be really bold, a prediction must look to be impossible & he will continue to s*** on everyone else's postings, especially the ones that mention Hudler OK, this prediction is in no way "bold" given that it is based totally on past performance in this thread
-
Bloggers who think they're actually journalists....so cute. I put absolutely zero stock in this given the source.
-
My predictions... - Pavel leads the team in fighting majors - The Mule throws out his back due to a particularly nasty sneezing fit & misses half the season - Huds gets caught in another prostitute scandal in December & decides to retire from hockey to join a monastery - Despite Hudler's retirement, Eva still predicts a 70+ pt 2011-2012 season for him & wonders why he's not getting time in the top 6 - Hank's beard becomes even more manly in an effort to make up for the loss of Drapes' Chuck Norris playoff beard - Mike Modano re-signs with the Wings to become a flight attendant on RedWingsIII - Brett Ledba signs a big contract to play in the KHL only to find that even in Russia, his name is still pronounced "pylon"
-
I've done my part 3 times & will double that when I get home. No excuse for that ripoff of the North Dakota Fightin' Sioux logo being #1.

Anyone else seen this: http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=69857 and been more than a little disappointed that a Larry Murphy with hot dog & Miller Lite bobblehead isn't one of the choices? I think a write-in campaign is in order.
