Kinda tough to say one way or the other until I see it on a jersey. Keeping Helm around is a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. Abby on the other hand, well I don't think it's quite as clear cut & the only way Happy sticks around is if he has a monster season in 2011-12. I really don't see that happening though.

He was never flashy enough to call attention to himself & was never considered "the best" when playing in an era with Roy & Brodeur. Despite that though, he's 10th all time in wins, has a GAA better than 6 of the top 10 (including Roy btw), & the 2nd best winning percentage of the top 10 behind Brodeur & slightly ahead of Roy. That says HoF worthy to me.

Well I will say that Hudler was the better checker out of the two in the SJ series. Just ask Clears if you don't believe me.

Hasn't Ilitch pretty much said that they reserve that for Wings that make the HoF? Even if Ozzie does get in (and I think he should), I just don't see his jersey going up in the rafters. You might be able to make a case for Shanny but I think it would be a weak one. McCarty though? No chance. I actually think there's a better case for Fedorov if you look at the impact he had on the team. Once you start factoring in the attempted jump to Carolina & the way he ultimately left the team, I think he pretty much burned that bridge though. Lids is obviously the next to go up & the two to debate after that will be Dats & Hank.

So should we go ahead & start the debate on how much of a hometown discount each is supposed to take already?

Who is more valuable right now? I'm taking that to mean who would I rather have in the 2011-12 season and for me that's Draper. You know what you're going to get night in & night out with Drapes. He has a specific role on the team, as others have mentioned, and he fills that role to a "t". He clearly doesn't have the "potential" & possible ceiling that Huds has, but you just never know what you're going to get with Huds game to game, in my opinion. Granted though, this poll was kinda like being asked if you would rather take a bowling ball to the junk or a steel-toed boot.

Really? Really? I seem to remember a certain former Hab, now Blue Jacket, that damn near everyone on LGW wanted Kenny to sign who went on NHL Live & said that Detroit's unwilling to pay people market value & that's why he signed for big money in C'bus. So I guess you'll want to change that fact to "every player minus one". Kenny gets a B/B- from me for locking in Lids, Eaves, White, Commodore, & Conks at the prices he did & saving cap space for later instead of spending just to spend. Would be a B/B+ if not for the overpayment on Big E though.

Given his general lack of effort over the years, I guess he would still have plently left in the tank to glide around the ice for 82 games a season even at his age.

I just found the name of my new band With Kenny saying that he'll have a backup signed by the end of the week, I would have to think he's looking at Conks or Turco. I just can't see him taking a chance on Emery given his injury history & more importantly his mental instability history.
