Visor, cage, no visor...pffft... Don't care at all. I'm not going to be happy until we finally get this:
-
Took 10 refreshes before I had "active stick" actually come up on a card. Got plenty of "stick on puck", "stick on ice", & "stick on stick" but only one "active stick".
-
It appears they missed my least favorite Edzo-ism....active stick. Don't ever play a drinking game with Doc & Edzo doing games. Between "active stick" & "waffle boarded", you would be dead of alcohol poisoning before the 1st intermission.
-
You forgot one step... 1. Become commissioner. 2. ? 3. Steal underpants 4. ? 5. Profit! You know, Bettman is just about the right height to be an underpants gnome. As for the actual #3 on fines/suspensions, who exactly is going to be in charge of that, Colin Campbell & Hockey Operations? Ah I can smell the controversy already.
-
If it really was Future Kenny, he would know whether or not he trades him in the off season. Maybe that's why he said it.
-
Don't care. I'm going to keep pretending it was Future Kenny standing next to a souped up DeLorean looking a little bit like Doc Brown who gave that quote.
-
I knew Holland was good but to actually be able to give quotes....FROM THE FUTURE!!!! The man continues to amaze!
-
I can't believe the NHL doesn't allow an apostrophe on their customized jerseys. I guess I'll just have to get my #26 green jersey with the name Leprechaun on the back instead of O'Hudler.

Wings expecting a decision soon on whether he'll go pro or stay in school: http://www.freep.com/article/20110313/SPORTS05/110313008/1053/sports05/Red-Wings-expect-decision-soon-from-Maine-junior-Gustav-Nyquist So what does everyone think, is he better off staying for his Sr year or does he start the clocking ticking on his waiver exemption period? With Mursak, Emmerton,& Tatar the next three in line, I don't see the major rush for him to turn pro just yet.
-
"That's it...breathe, breathe, breathe, push! breathe, breathe, breathe, BIG PUSH!" Chalk that up to all the Wings births lately...

He gets the shakes whenever he sees a healthy, bushy, manly beard.

I think one needs to ask, would Air Canada have reacted like this if the incident stemmed from a Hurricanes vs. Panthers or Coyotes vs. Sharks game? Personally, I think not. Seems to me the BoD are acting more like kneejerk fans than businessmen on this one.
-
So clearly ALL employees of Air Canada are by extension Leafs fans then right? Thanks for setting me straight on that. Now if only this was Bell Canada telling the NHL that they can't use their phone lines any more... So it was a bad move of me to burn my Honda immediately upon hearing Chara wasn't suspended for the rest of the year?
-
When it comes right down to it, I think the reaction would be the same regardless of where the hit occurred due to the injury suffered. Imagine the hit occuring at the bench door, the force of the impact jarring it loose or it wasn't closed completely to begin with, & Pacioretty was injured that way. Even in a case like that, you would have plenty of people screaming that "Chara knew where they were on the ice & was hoping that would happen!". Would I be one of those screaming if he had done that to anyone on the Wings? Yeah, probably. That's what being a fan does to you so I can understand much of the angst over this. Now to start throwing out the idea of police investigations into the matter & the like, well that's just lunacy. Anyone who plays a sport like hockey or football where there is so much violent contact involved assumes the inherent risk of injury by even stepping or skating onto the playing surface. Anyone saying there was intent on Chara's part to seriously harm Pacioretty enough to where the normal line of injury risks assumed when playing hockey is crossed & into where a criminal case for assult exists is seriously mental in my opinion. Bottom line: It was a hockey play, the extent of the injury was an unlucky accident & nothing more, and Chara was penalized already with a game misconduct. Can I see why he wasn't suspended further? Sure. Could I understand why the NHL would give him 1 or 2 games more if they did? Sure. A criminal investigation though? Who the hell are we kidding here?

Why thank you sir. I appreciate it when someone enjoys me bringin' the funny.
-
Yup, I think so...

Are we sure it wasn't the Hardest Working Playa Award? Given his love of the ladies (paid for or otherwise) I could see Huds getting that.
-
No he would get a proper burial but instead of a tombstone, it would be marked with a pylon of course.
-
Hmmmm.....Any chance that several of the head honchos with Air Canada are Habs fans based on this reponse? Oh I'm sure that's just a coincidence right?
-
Maybe that's what Datsyuk wants everyone to think. He is rather crafty, that one.

If there was ever an article that shouldn't be written...

And here I thought this thread was going to be about the fan submitted article on the freep stating that Hudler might be the Wings most important player. You know what this all means? Huds will be the one getting injured next. -
Oh why not just really shake things up? C: Hudler A: Flip A: Big E Actually once Lids & Drapes step away, I would imagine they'll keep rotating the A's like they do now. Something like this wouldn't surprise me.... C: Hank A: Pavs A (rotation): Flip A (rotation): Kronner or Stewie Now am I dreaming this up or did Flip not wear the A a game or two last year with all the injuries?
-
Um, to answer that semi-question...no, that wasn't the point I was making at all. Given the approach to team building & cap management that the front office takes, Jimmy is simply the better value for the price & contract length the Wings have him for in my opinion. I wouldn't want Niemi locked in for 4 on this team at $3.8m per no more than I would want Howie locked in for 4 at anything above $3m at this point either. And as to whether one would want Niemi for the same price as Howard for the playoffs...why not ask the same of Thomas, Lundqvist, Luongo, or Miller? Yeah, who wouldn't want one of those at the same price as Howie? Granted, I want a bj from Angelina Jolie but that ain't happening either.
-
And one could also make the argument that the 'Hawks won despite Niemi's performance and for a team like the Wings, signing Howard at the cheaper price is a much better deal because it allows them to spend that $1.6m elsewhere.
-
Yes both Hank & Pavs deserve the C. You know how you solve it? Give it to Huds. Happiest...captain...ever... But seriously, it's pretty obvious that Hank is the captain in waiting so I really see no use in debating it.
