So would you rather have Jimmy for 2 years at $2.25m per or Niemi for 4 at a $3.8 average? I call this a solid, solid signing by Kenny.
-
But Kovalev is more of a known quantity in Pittsburgh having played there before & supposedly, his former teammate Mario had quite a bit to do with the trade.
-
And one such example can be found here: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/indepth/feature-hockey-cleary.html
-
And yet he did. Guess that chance was slightly better than 0%.
-
Yes please on either one.
-
But Cleary also came in on a tryout and worked his ass off to make the team. Zherdev? No want...
-
Or stuck at the kiddie table with Hudler next Thanksgiving.
-
How the %^#$! did the Wings/Wild end up with that ****** Pat Foley?
-
Would prefer the big house but realistically, I don't think it would happen.
-
So when the Bruins win The Cup, does Burke get a spot in the parade?
-
I believe Mickey even mentioned something on the broadcast last night about the chemistry that Happy has been developing with Dats. I would really love to see Babs keep them together when Flip & Mikey are both back & healthy.
-
And this is why so many other team's fans hate the Wings. Gotta say though, let 'em hate. It only makes us stronger.
-
I don't see that happening. Haven't the Wings considered Emmerton to be untouchable unless they were really blown out of the water on a trade in the past? If I remember correctly, didn't Florida want him in the Bert trade & Kenny said no?
-
Can't link it since I'm at work, but Bob McKenzie tweeted that his take is that Wheeler's not off to Toronto in the trade but would likely be dealt someone else if the Kaberle deal's done.
-
Is Burke secretly the GM for Boston? First the Leafs get the short end of the hockey stick on the Phil Kessel trade & now he's probably going to get the same trading Kaberle off to Beantown. Burkie might just go down in history as the greatest GM the Bruins ever had.
-
By all means, let's bring in a player who by all counts is even lazier & less interested in playing a two way game as Leino was when he was here. No thank you...
-
I heard there were concerns with his "core" temperature. What, too soon?
-
I think it would have to come down to finding a solid, rent-a-player D-man for the playoffs that could provide a safety net for Rusty or Big E. I don't see Kenny givng up a prospect though, maybe a 3rd round pick at most. If we're talking trading prospects off, I think the deal has to be for someone that would be a clear upgrade over those two and Kindl & it would have to be someone under contract for next year at least or someone Kenny thinks he can sign for longer. I just don't see either scenario playing out though. It's more than likely going to be a quiet deadline again in Hockeytown.

Per the Wings twitter account, Salei was excused from practice Monday "as his family expects a new addition in the near future".
-
I think he quickly figured out that he wasn't even going to be able to help the Avs REACH the playoffs.
-
Nice article from Scott Burnside on espn.com calling Mario out. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/story?columnist=burnside_scott&id=6120121
-
And I would think it would be difficult for him to help the Avs' defense while sitting out the rest of the season after shoulder surgery in December.
-
Trade them the rights to Larsson for a bag of pucks & future considerations. Looks like Poulin's done for the year now. Surgery required on his dislocated knee cap.
-
From Darren Dreger, Snow's trying to make a trade for a goalie now. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/dregerreport/

Everybody Wang Pawn tonight! The best thing that could happen to the Isles? Let Jim Basile buy 'em, gut the organ-I-zation, & move them to Hamilton.
