I've gotten used to this team disappointing me... so I am trying to find some answer. Hopefully we will rebound. If we make the playoffs I will be extrmely happy, but all is not lost for me.

GMR.. maybe you are right mate. But I will attribute this loss to fatigue and see if we can rebound against Carolina. It was a pretty heavy road trip and we had some good moments and some bad ones. Hopefully the true wings will come out.. as much as we have been disappointed with the results this season. If we lose badly to Carolina then I will start to really worry.

I disagree and agree with the first or second post on this page. If I was offered 10 million for two years I would take it. Plus he never turned his back on the Wings. It's not as if he pulled a Chelios (offending the Blackhawks) or something. He went to the KHL.. it's not like he is Hossa or Federov. The matter is that we don't have a guy of his offensive ability on the third line. Maybe Helm... in time, but right now Hudler's numbers fromt the past are impressive.

I feel like he should play Howard if he is still playing very well come the postseason if we are there... for the first one for two games and see how he feels. If he isn't playing like he used to put in Ozzie, and then if we are up considerably in games put in Howard. Ozzie should also be made aware of any situation thus he doesn't feel bad or anything. I feel like if a player is performing well throughout the season (and that is still a big if for Jimmy) then it would be like you are turning your back on him come the postseason... in any sport from where I am sitting. Give him a test run in the first game and if we see that he still needs time put in Ozzie. I think that is only fair.

Favorite moment? At the practice after LA Kings game this past Friday... yelling at Filppula to get closer to the crease from the corner in the offensive zone. Hahaha

The laser has been used in the Uefa Champions League for soccer the last couple of years as a way to distract players. Once when Manchester United played in France two years ago Cristiano Ronaldo had a laser pointed at him throughout the game. UEFA, the sanctioning body for European football gave Lyon, the French club, a 50,000 euro fine and banned the guy for life from any game in France. This has happened a couple of times and the result is always the same... a fine for the club and a ban to the guy who did it.

Yeah on Tuesday this week. The game finishes the 'road trip'. As for the game.. I must say I was at least impressed by our agressiveness if you can call it that. Even though San Jose turned the puck over in the neutral zone a bunch of times it took some heart to come back from being a goal down after we had been playing fairly well considering our past two outings in the LA area. Howard was his usual self, but it seemed like everyone was up for it more. The passing was better in the defensive zone and we were connecting coming through the neutral zone, something I felt was the biggest problem over the past two games. Datsyuk could barely do anything in the LA games, but that takeaway he had showed that he was frustrated and ended up getting us back in the game. That is the Pavel we know and love. Cleary should have finished that 1v1 he had when we were still 1-0 down but he did the job when another opportunity came to him. 2 goals in 2 games. Great way to come back, and especially when we need some offense. I was also impressed by our defense.. especially Janik and not just because of the assist from the shot. He had some really smart plays, and I can start to see why some of you more veteran fans think he is a good seventh, even though he might leave in the end. I was glad to see Eaves get a redirect goal as his effort has merited it. Besides Helm and Jimmy for me Eaves is the only guy that played his heart out on all four games during the Western trip, even though others showed glimmers. He put a solid trip together. And what can you say about Helm that hasn't been said? His quickness is creating chances for us, and that fourth goal to put the game away was all him. He also created another chance out of nothing in the third period from the right side of the San Jose blue line. His hands have improved bit by bit... I hope it continues, because he continues to impress me. Overall a good performance like I said before considering the way we have played. It was a good way for the team to show that it still has a massive heart. And that is all I want.. 100% for 60-70 minutes a night giving it your all considering the situation. GO RED WINGS!

It's maybe weak for some.. but I will be cheering USA all the way come the Olympics. If the juniors surprised everyone why not the seniors? I know it's asking for too much but it would be amazing. However for me, it is between Russia and Canada. I know the Russian defense is a little weak but I see their offense taking over. Sweden is another team, but I can see the U.S. getting the bronze. I am also curious to see the Czechs.

I cannot agree with this statment more.... if he gets his head down and gets some strength his skill set could make him into a good player. It's just when he's touched he cannot control himself. We can only hope he knows this too.

We can't play much worse than we did against LA, besides Jimmy and Helm. All i want is a complete team performance and hopeuflly a point.

Totally agree with this. Last night Leino looked like a princess out there. I am sorry, if you can't take a slight hit while having the puck you shouldn't be in the NHL. I understand the Finnish perspective but you have to say if he doesn't start to produce in some way he should leave. I mean 1 goal in 23 games. For me Leino is a clear choice... Abdelkader is the second guy. Although I want to see him come back some time in the future. He has the tenacity and has had a decent contribution. I feel like he is still learning. And the third is anyone's guess. As for May, I don't want to get rid of him as he fights for the jersey. There isn't one guy who puts his gloves down like him in the team. He can turn morale up in a second. Besides him nobody has the toughness of May for me.

Curious to see if Howard can replicate his LA game. Even if he can come close I will be very happy. As long as he can keep putting periods together. I do know one thing though.. we can't give them 50+ shots. Jimmy can't be expected to do what he did every night..
