This was the talk last year before they announced pens caps. The problem with this match up at new yankee stadium is that there is a BCS bowl game at the stadium (pin stripe bowl), which happens on december 30th and is going to happen through at least the 2013 BCS season. If i remember correctaly, the NHL needs 2+ weeks to set up the ice and make sure everything is up to standards. I think if this game were to happen, it would happen at the new meadowlands, but that would pose a problem because it is much bigger and i dont know if the NHL would want 2 new york teams playing in new jersey. i think you'll more than likely see two west conference teams play, but neither from the central. Stars v Wild would be my pick, but i dont really expect it.

i spit take when i read the title. If his production hadn't fallen off a cliff the last two years, I could see a argument being made for his number being in the rafters. Given the last two season, I don't see it happening. Hall of Fame, probably, but no way he gets his number retired. Lids will be the next number retired.

has it been announced what is actually wrong with him? it sounds like either a broken bone or a high ankle sprain, just judging by how much time he is going to be missing.

Bump just for props on how strong Ericsson has been playing this season. Being paired with Rafalski has really helped him it seems.

I just looked over the Kings forum GDT and they all seem to think ozzy is going to produce and the game is going to be a blow out. I think it has more to do with our offensive power than ozzy, but its weird reading stuff and people not being afraid of ozzy or trashing him. I'm excited to see how he does, but i'm not excited to watch this game at the bar with no audio and being the only person there paying attention to it.

Sidford Crosby will probably win but it is sweet to see lids on there.

i really like that babs is challenging abby to be the net presence on the 2nd line. From what ive seen, abby is coming into his own this season and has earned a shot at 2nd line minutes.

I got tickets to the blues game (last week) off of stub hub and i paid less than half face value. the game was "sold out" but there were large areas of empty seats. my friend and i could of very easily moved into the lower bowl and if we were ballsy enough gotten seats right on the ice, but from our seats (218 a row 3) we could see everything amazingly. It does suck that there are a bunch of empty seats when games are "sold out" but at least all the seats are paid for supporting the team. In situations like this, you just have to take it upon yourself to get the seats you want once you get in.

for some reason the idea of Lids and dmac talking/hanging out is really funny to me.

im really glad this thread was made because i have the same question and am going to be at the same game.

i think abby has a lot of potential still for the team. If he stays with us, i could see him being a real leader on the team, among the players coming out of GR in the next few years.
