How are you blaming the game on the announcers and not our players?!
-
We look terrible. Just down right like a team that is not good. And you all got your wish about new linees for Dats. Didn't work.
-
I hate this second line, of Abs-Cleary-Dats. There's only one guy on that line I enjoy watching. Franzen is useless. Did you see him just watch the loose puck on our blue line and not go after it to get it out?
-
We're not putting anything on net. You don't win games when you do that.
-
What's the point of complaining about that call - we have no talent at all. Everyone is tradeable in my opinion after this series. Minus Pav, Z and White.
-
I hope we trade Filppula and Franzen in the offseason. Straight to the Oilers for the first overall pick. Our team looks pathetic.
-
Too cute of a team. Ick.
-
Could Filppula be worse?
-
I hope this is sarcasm.

That doesn't really make any sense...If that's what they are concerned with then just have the waivers for the playoffs...His salary counting against our cap is the checks and balances here... I really don't understand. And, really no need to say it's been posted already, there are 37 pages, I'm not reading them all. Thanks for responding, but no need to take a quick jab.

Can someone please explain to me the purpose of waivers? I just don't even understand why they exist, at least not in this situation. Nabokov was available to every team in the league...But we went out and signed him...Why does everyone else get a chance to pluck him?

Here. For anyone and everyone confused or curious over the HNIC debate regarding the hit. SPOILER ALERT: It's only MM who thought it was clean... The Hot Stove - Jan8, 11 - HNIC

Mattias Ritola expected to make Red Wings playoff debut; Andreas Lilja back in for Brett Lebda in Game 4 By Ansar Khan May 06, 2010, 10:40AM DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings will make a couple of lineup changes tonight as they try to stave off elimination against the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. Forward Mattias Ritola is expected to make his playoff debut, replacing Jason Williams. And on defense, Andreas Lilja will go back in for Brett Lebda. Ritola is expected to play on a line with Justin Abdelkader, his former linemate on the Grand Rapids Griffins, and Kris Draper. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/05/mattias_ritola_expected_to_mak.html ___________________________________ I DON'T agree with this move. Lebda's speed was a great addition. Get rid of Ericsson. What is going on???
-
Are you guys kidding me right now? Ericsson is a total liability out there. Babcock always says you play the guys who are playing the best. If that's the case, Lebda should be in. No doubt about it. Ericsson shouldn't have pinched/joined the rush on that play. Don't blame Willy for missing the net (that's a stupid ass scape goat) and the forwards for not covering (they probably didn't think that was going to happen. Did Ericsson call them back? We don't know, but he should have. Or he should have taken a look to see if a forward was in position to cover him. Either way, it's Ericsson fault. He caused that whole meltdown. Willy missing the net really didn't have much to do with it if the normal coverage was there. It would have been a 2on2 with Aby back-checking. Lidstrom misses the net all the time... Anyways, I don't understand this move at all. And I don't like it. I'd like to see this...Not that it truly matters... Okay, so I've recently decided (like 7 seconds ago) to write out my thoughts after each Red Wings game. No point in just holding onto them in my head. Plus, it'll give me a chance to work on my writing. (End Explanation) Red Wings 3 @ Sharks 4 (SJS Lead Series 1-0) San Jose, Calif. -- Odd game. Before it even started most of us could see this coming. On only 30 minutes rest, the Red Wings were slated by the NHL to start their second-round series against the #1 seed in the Western Conference. (Conspiracy Theorists, I release you!). On the one hand, we did take seven games in our opening round, so we don't necessarily deserve any wiggle room. On the other hand, well, that hand is tired, so that's all I got. The cat nap the Wings received before the game did them no good and it showed quickly, as San Jose jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. The Wings stopped the bleeding with a quick strike of their own, Cleary's first goal in 4 years. From that point on, I thought the ice was tilted in Detroit's favor. Sure the Sharks got chances, and they will continue to, but the Wings did a good job of limiting them and keeping them to the outside. Clearly something clicked in Franzen (finally...) after Cleary scored for the first time in his career, as he added the Wings second goal, cutting the deficit 2-3. Coincidentally, it was #11 setting the perfect screen on the goal. The comeback was on. The Wings were turning it on. And then the refs turned me off. Franzen got highsticked, drew blood, and was sent to the penalty box to serve a two-minute penalty for tripping. Now we all know this rule was changed with the introduction of the New NHL, so I really don't understand why that call was made. But I digress. Of course, on the ensuing powerplay Filppula decided to continue his quest to negate all the positive things he did in the opening round (...and there were a lot...) by taking a highsticking penalty, giving the Sharks a 5on3 advantage. They scored on it. Now I don't doubt Osgood has taught Howard a great deal about being a NHL goaltender, but did he have to include his (upward) stance on five-holes? I guess the answer to that rhetorical questions is... Ultimately that goal really was a game changer. The Wings would add a tic-tac-toe goal later on, when Rafalski finished off a beautiful play by Franzen and Datsyuk, but that would be as close as they would come. 3-4. Now the were some other particulars of the loss that bothered me besides the refereeing, if you can call it that. Our defense has got to, got to, hit the net with their shots from the point more than never. Our forwards did a great job cycling the puck down low, working it low to high, setting up great opportunities for shots, and then Kronwall would take out his 9-iron and just shoot it into the rafters. Or Lidstrom would try to bank it off the McDonald's sign and into the goal. Um, hey Lidstrom, you still have a cannon, just fire it at the goalie, you might be surprised. It was only the first game. And per usual, it was only one game. It's funny how this is only brought up after a loss. While it is the truth, each series is a race to four, and we are currently stuck at the starting line. But maybe that's why that "it's only a game" fact is so comforting, because come Sunday the Wings will have an opportunity to get right back into the race, and perhaps take over the inside track as the series shifts back to Hockeytown for games three and four.

Lebda should be in for E. Lebda and Lilja play way better as a pair than E and Lilja do. Williams and Draper might as well just go home and watch with Malts. Stuie to PP#2 Helm Eaves Abby May Miller Cleary

Line Up Changes Please, Coach. In: Abby May Lebs Out: Willy Drapes Big E

We Look Horrible
-
f*** this. Bad Passing this period. Just laziness. Williams needs to be benched for Abdelkader. Draper benched for May. END. OF. STORY.
-
Our start times suck ball sack. I'm not happy about Game 4. How the f*** is our crowd going to get there on time? ******* bulls***.

I think you gave me too many points.
