Where does that hate for Kindl come from? When he enters the lineup he just scores goals. 5 on the season. How many did Kronwall have?
-
Great points. Don't mistake my post. I think we win tomorrow. But I think we can be a better team for sure and some of the mistakes are on Holland. That's all. The timing is just a question. It would be weirder to me to just bring it up if we lose. I think we win anyways. Doesn't mean I think Holland has done a lot. I think Babcock wins in spite of what Holland puts on his bench. And just because those moves are old doesn't mean they are forgotten...
-
I was purely asking when does Holland get blamed for his bad moves. I appreciate y'all trying to change the direction of the thread though. It's clear he doesn't get any blame for any bad moves. He can do no wrong in Detroit. Like I said, I disagree with that. I think if the Wings made it to the first round of the playoffs for the next 20 years with Holland he'd never get fired and no one would mind on here because the playoffs has become the bar.
-
Okay that settles it. Thanks. I'm clearly in the minority here. And that's fine. He has earned much of his hardware when there was no salary cap. I don't think he's been that terrific lately. Just my two cents. We apparently disagree though. Which is fine. Neither of us get to fire or retain him anyways.
-
Bowman was with us until we won the Cup in '08. Since '10 we haven't gotten through the second round.
-
No dude. What you're saying is then a GM is never to blame. They always assume players will be good. I'm totally confused at your logic here. You can obviously leave but I don't understand your point. YES. IT IS THE GMs JOB TO KNOW IF A PLAYER IS GOING TO WORK OUT OR NOT. IF NOT THEN WHAT IS THEIR JOB?!
-
Obviously I hope you're right ha.
-
I hear you. But definitely disagree completely. Holland isn't me or you. He's supposed to be our expert. Some of this has to fall on him. You can't blame Howard for not being the guy. Holland needs to have recognized that. If we can trade him this offseason that'd be a big step. For a bag of pucks even. Get rid of that cap number. Franzen is overpaid based on what he's done for us. That's all I meant. Knowing who is injury prone is part of the GMs job. He can't predict it, but he can make a educational bet. Nyquist or Tatar need to be traded in my opinion this offseason. They are too similar and while their stocks are high, could land us something we really need. Like another Top 3 D man. You could get Yzerman to come home. You could probably get Scotty to be our GM. I'm not happy just sneaking into the playoffs. And since Nill and Bowman and Yzerman have left, we have struggled. Agree or disagree?

I'm confused that this is going to review. I'm also worried because why would it unless they planned on suspending him. Though, Suh. Different league but similar. I bet 1 game suspension. Kindl comes in. 3 points. Wings 5 Lightning 1 After game, "They cheated, Kindl never plays." - J Cooper

I just watched it three times again. Is it just me or was it not even that bad? Havlat was worse...
-
Yeah then I agree and disagree with you. He definitely will not be fired. He definitely is loved by the Illitches. However, I do think he bares more blame than what he is getting (about zero).

A discussion…Ha. Most of the prospects exist on many teams. i.e. Tampa Bay's T. Johnson. How about overpaying for Quincey? Resigned Cleary twice. Overpaid and signed Franzen and Howard. Zidlicky is struggling badly. Nyquist looks small and lost out there. Never planned for Lidstrom's and Rafalski's departures. Didn't figure out a way to keep Hossa. Stephen Weiss is on the team but doesn't dress. Does any of that ring a bell? Bother you?

Thanks for your post. I guess I just don't understand when the bar in Detroit became making the postseason. That seems awfully low for a franchise with 11 Stanley Cup banners. Nobody is perfect but GMs have been fired for way less than Holland. Boston for instance. Been to two finals, with 1 victory since 09. I guess the real issue is, are the Wings moving in the right direction? Not exactly sure what you're trying to start. But thanks for posting anyways. I'm not saying it's revolutionary. It'd be revolutionary for action to be taken though. I'm wondering if it's time.

It's not bad luck when you only make bad moves...
-
He definitely left his feet. Could've been called on the ice. It wasn't. Suspension though?! What in the world is this world of hockey coming to.
-
Why are they looking at it? No penalty. No injury. I'm confused. So much in the NHL goes unnoticed or unreviewed. Hmm.

Let's talk honest. What do the Wings need to do in Game 2 if they want to come home up 2-0. I know I'll get flamed for this, because that's what ppl do, but benching either Tatar or Nyquist, who were both basically benched in the third last night, would maybe help light a spark. Bring in Cleary. We need someone who is not afraid to get hit and can clear the puck out of our zone. I'd play Kindl over Marchenko at this point. He's more offensive. What are your thoughts? My lines for Game 2. Z - Pav - Helm Nyq - Sheahan - Jurko Miller - Glendening - Andersson Cleary - Weiss - Ferraro Kronwall - E Kindl - Quincey Dekeyser - Zids M H

Interesting thinking. I dig this post. Strong points.
-
The idea that we should say "No one played good at forward" does not excuse Tatar and Nyquist…That's crazy.
-
So you thought Tatar and Nyquist looked good. They just didn't play because of match ups?
-
They have been terrible for over a month now. Agree or disagree? And no, that's not why. Go look at everyone's ice time. Jurko got about as many minutes in THE GAME as them. Same with Weiss. Don't kid yourself. Babcock chose not to play them. Jurko's screen on Datsyuk's second goal was great. Just saying
-
He didn't. He made a couple mistakes, one I think lead to a great scoring chance, but don't quote me on that. He played fine. Maybe you're right. Leave the winning team as is. But I think we agree, that formula from last night is not going to win us a series.
-
Ha. I told you it was crazy. It's just a thought. I don't know. Maybe the Kindl thing is a bit off. I'll be the first to say I wanted Marchenko in and the first to say he looked iffy at best. Tatar or Nyquist need to be taught accountability. In my opinion.

Yeah great idea. Put Tatar on the top line where he should be. You know, because of how well he's played in the last month... -

He definitely shouldn't split them up. I'd rather have one amazing line versus 2 mediocre lines. Don't call me buddy. Thanks chief.
