As long as the likes of Bertuzzi, Samuelsson, Cleary never see the ice, I like our chances in this series. The kids have shown they have the talent to put up offense as well as the guts to go to the hard areas of the ice and win battles, which we have sorely lacked in recent playoff history. We need a solid effort out of our D, don't have to win us any games but also don't lose us any, and Howard needs to play at least as well as he did over his last 10 or so starts. The Bruins are a bigger and more physical team, but we have the edge in foot speed with just about every forward line matchup. We stay healthy, Wings in 6 or 7, we lose any of our regulars, hate to say it but Bruins in 5 or 6.

ps 2014 Round 1 Photoshop War: Boston Bruins

Usually takes me a game or two into the series to gain inspiration for a new playoff opponent, but here goes: Also, an old standby of mine: -
"Go team go, go my favorite sports team, go! Yay, they scored a goal...unit...basket..."
-
"You too!"

That was a huge statement game for the kids, but no way we have a chance to pull it off in the end without Howard, he was huge when he needed to be.

Who needs veterans?

Like many here, I don't consider any team my "second favorite", however due to a number of factors (Detroit ties with Yzerman & Filppula, proximity) I watch a lot of Lightning games. If the Wings or Tampa are not playing on any given night, I don't even go to NHL.com let alone watch any games.

I like the line combos, Alfie and Helm have had pretty good chemistry when they've played together, if the ribs don't limit his movement Jurco could open up some room for the Mule to get a few shots off, and of course the kid line has been reelgud, no reason to think they won't continue to be. I expect a big bounce back performance tonight.

Didn't watch the video, but I've seen this guy before, kinda looks like Radko Gudas from the Bolts

Wow, they sure aren't making it look easy out there, huge win, Goose in full on super saiyan mode!

What happened to Q? I saw Kronwall was back, must've missed them talking about Quincey getting hurt.

This goes beyond ludicrous, what kind of voodoo hex is happening to this team?

Helm, warp one, engaged!

Last time the Wings were outside looking in at this point in the season, I started growing a beard and we jumped from 10th to 4th, so I'm down for trying it again. Unshaven Wings fans unite!

Didn't see anything in the source article or his bio on LSSU's site that says if he shoots righty or lefty. If he is a righty, we may see him fast-tracked.

^This The way I see it, Nick carried this team on his shoulders for the majority of his career, but Stevie lifted the team out of the depths and restored it to glory. Yzerman always has been and always be my favorite player of all-time, so I am biased in his favor, but as others have said how lucky we are that we get to have the discussion about which of our hockey royalty best represents the greatest franchise in the history of professional sports.

Amen brother, anything less would be a massive letdown. -

It's a Yiddish word that loosely translates as choked up with emotion, Mike Meyers used to do a character on SNL that would say it in every sketch. (Showing my age there) -

I promised myself I wouldn't cry...there I go, I'm getting a little verklempt -
This. Last game I went to at the Forum, it was about 60/40 Wings fans, the Let's Go Red Wings chants drowned out whatever the Bolts fans were trying to chant

If only we could persuade them to waive Cleary, anyone think another team would pick him up after this offseason and the way he's played? Pretty sure we'll have to send someone down to GR when Datsyuk comes off IR, so as much as I think Andersson should be the one to sit, I honestly think it will be Jurco, Sheahan, or Glendening, in that order of likelihood, which sucks because the Yoots/Meddling Kids line has been outstanding and I'd hate to break up the obvious chemistry they have going right now. Granted, a healthy Datsyuk is more valuable to the team then Tatar, Sheahan and Jurco combined, but we haven't had a secondary scoring line this solid since we rolled with Franzen/Datsyuk/Bertuzzi & Hudler/Zetterberg/Filppula a couple season ago. Even in light of the relative sanity with which Holland and Babcock have been making roster decisions lately, the cap and roster limits cannot be ignored.

At first I liked The Answer Line, but the more I think about it, Yoots is starting to grow on me.

Love the old school GDT graphics! Read in the NHL.com comments that Tootoo was called up for tonight's game, can anyone confirm? I didn't see anything on the usual sources.
