I think it's more of an issue with the cameras at the arena, plus the lighting on the ice seems much dimmer on TV, even when I watch an HD broadcast on Sportsnet or TSN, any game played in Edmonton looks lower quality than, say, Detroit, Chicago, San Jose, Colorado, (dare I say) Pittsburgh, and others. Maybe it's just me, but I notice little things like that becuase I watch hockey for a living. About the game, without Oshie in the lineup, the Blues will likely be playing more chippy than usual, which is saying something. I imagine this game will be like the first Edmonton game, we will win handily but there will be a few fights instigated by hard but legal hits. Prediction: 5-2 Wings

You can only link your account to one console at a time, but in the settings of the app you can unlink it at any time, and if you download the app on 2 consoles you can link and unlink as many times as you want. Also, regarding the lack of a quality/bitrate setting, I emailed the developers and requested that be added, and I have also requested the specific requirements of the app as far as bandwidth is concerned so that we can inform users. Obviously the app is still new and while it has been put through QA by our developers and the folks at Sony, there will still be some bugs to work out in the coming weeks. Any of you that have questions can feel free to PM me, but it seems like most of the people commenting on this thread have a pretty good handle on things.

He has spent a lot of time this season floating, giving up on scrums, getting knocked off the puck easily. Tonight I actually saw him more than once trying to dig the puck off the boards, and when he had the puck he was not looking rushed and it paid off on the first goal and almost paid off on the chance right before that. I have no illusions about changing your mind when it comes to Hudler, but you cannot honestly say that he was not looking like Robert Lang out there earlier in the season. Now that he is playing with more confidence, the goals will come. I agree that Hudler/Filppula/Franzen makes more sense in terms of the traditional roles Babcock likes to have on each line (shooter, playmaker, net presence) but until the last couple of games the BFF combo was arguably our best line and did not need to be tampered with.

They have different skillsets and different roles, but both are equally valuable when they are playing with confidence. I have always been more of a Filppula supporter myself (just a matter of personal preference) but as long as both wear the Winged Wheel I will cheer them on whole-heartedly. By the way, if Hudler keeps playing the way he did tonight, going into the corners, holding on to the puck, creating space and time to make plays, then his confidence will continue to rise and the goals will come. The beauty of Filppula's game is that he doesn't need to score in order to be effective, but he does seem to be becoming more of a scoring threat lately.

Crosby is very strong physically, but pound for pound I would have to give the edge to Dats in that matchup. I don't think anyone in the league today who is close in size could ragdoll Datsyuk the way Crosby did Niskanen. I wouldn't mind seeing Datsyuk and Crosby square off and see who is REALLY the best all-around player in the league That being said, I give Crosby props for trying to be a leader and throwing some good punches. I think the fight was less a product of the score and more due to the fact that Morrow picked a fight with Letang, who not only is not much of a fighter but has a hand injury and couldn't really fight back if he wanted to.

Stu Grimson is a lawyer in Tennessee, I couldn't believe that when I read it a couple of years ago.

According to his Wikipedia page, they sell Parros Mustaches at the Honda Center.
-
That has to be one of the funniest things I have seen in a while, the taunting and the reaction both priceless. Side note, I have quite a bit more respect for Parros after reading up on him, Princeton grad, donates his hair to Locks of Love, mustache merchandise proceeds all go to charity. Too bad he is stuck being the enforcer on a team full of goons.

The Southeast is still the weakest division, but not by as wide a margin as previous seasons. Washington is a force, and Tampa Bay will make the playoffs and may even win the division, but the rest of the teams are so far behind it's almost not fair. Second-weakest division is a toss-up between Northeast and Northwest, as someone else said the Northeast is basically Boston and whoever else sucks the least, and the Northwest will be a cakewalk for Vancouver when they play Calgary, Edmonton, and Minnesota 7 or 8 times apiece.

I never thought I would ever agree with someone who agreed with those two clowns, but they are exactly right. The refs made the right call based on what they saw, Miettenen was in a vulnerable position, Brown was approaching laterally, and the follow through on the hit caused Miettenen's head to snap back, I don't think anyone can question the call on the ice. However, if the league decides that hit is worthy of suspension after reviewing it carefully, that is another story.

I lol'd, that is great. I voted 40-45, I really think that if he stays healthy (meaning not missing more than 2 games at a time) he will be our leading goal scorer. The chemistry on that line is amazing right now, and if it continues I see the three of them combining for 80 goals and at least 150 points.
-
Time for the 2nd line to shine again.

Patric Hornqvist, he's basically Holmstrom 2.0 and skates better, imagine if we brought him here to learn from Homer directly, the guy could score 40 goals from within 5 feet from the net. Also, I'd take Evander Kane in a heartbeat, that kid is going to be dominant in a couple years. On D, I would be stoked if we could somehow steal Doughty away from LA, he is the closest of any other defenseman playing right now to having the total package like our own beloved Perfect Human. Realistically though, I'd settle for a full season (75 games or more) out of Franzen and Kronwall, that alone will make us a favorite to win the West.

I hope the real Wings show up tonight, not the team that failed to show up on Thursday.
-
With the benefit of video replay, you can see that it is a clean hit, but because it was close to being a blindside hit, and especially since his head snapped sideways and his helmet flew off, I can see why the refs called what they did.
-
Can't wait for tonight's game, Hank gets on the board, Hudler scores on the PP, Flip gets another point, and the Wings win going away. Bummer that Ericsson can't go with Rafalski out, this could have been a good chance for him to step up ad prove something, but oh well.

I don't think there was any intent to injure, but that hit is illegal no mater how you look at it, they could have called boarding, charging, hitting from behind, you name it, and they would have been justified. Definitely worthy of 5 and a game, maybe a 1 or 2 game suspension as well. You can't blame Pominville for that,he looked over his shoulder and may had even braced himself for a hit from the side, but as a player you have the expectation that you will take hits, but that those hits will be delivered legally (from the front or the side) and react accordingly.

They also made a gray Starter Red Wings jersey. I have the blue, gray, and black ones, and ironically they are the only ones that fit me, my red Yzerman jersey shrunk at the dry cleaners and has never been the same since. So don't be surprised if you see a black Wings jersey in Feb when the Wings play in Tampa.

We have been getting lot of requests about the chat, so we have asked our developers to increase the size and add back some of the functionality that was taken out from last year. The Android app requires a separate subscription, you actually buy it directly from Android Market, not from NHL.com, so you would have to buy both if you wanted to watch on your computer an phone. Not entirely true, we submitted it well before the start of the season, we just did not hear back from Sony until the first day of the seaso.

One of the Ducks announcers said something very surprising, but also very true. "He (Datsyuk) is not a fighter, not that Perry is necessarily either" Even his own play-by-play team recognizes he is a spot-picking pantywaist
-
Looks like Green took fighting lessons from the Caps resident enforcer, Alexander "slapfight" Semin. How funny would it have been if Kovy broke his hand in that fight, he definitely instigated it.

Filppula on pace for 123 points Tonight is a prime example of what depth can do. I'd take our depth over their 'core' any day. ZDH didn't really impress me today, but the 2nd line picked up the slack and then some. Congrats to Ozzie on moving one step closer to an impressive milestone, he looked like the Ozzie of '08 tonight making the tough saves and shutting it down on the 3rd period power-play marathon they gave the Hawks. I am genuinely excited about this team.

All I could think about while watching that fight is this: Mainly because of the resemblance between Fairy and Farkus, they could be brothers. Let's face it, anything less than a lopsided beatdown by Perry has to be considered an upset in this matchup, I'm sure that is what the Fairy was expecting to happen. Good on Pavel for not only standing his ground, but actually displaying some decent fighting technique.

Let's spoil their banner ceremony and show their bandwagon fans what a true champion looks like.

That was more than just a game, it was a statement: We may be Euros, but we are not soft! Gotta love Ken Daniels "Datsyukian Decks" lol Mule gets off to a fast start, so the wife is happy, Mikey Mo pots his first in red, happy day, Howie with the shutout, Pavs with the Gordie Howe Hat Trick, Most impressive
