After the last 3 games, I am seriously considering changing my vote. I am a die-hard Filppula supporter, but even I didn't think he would put up 8 points in 3 games. Now, he only needs 6 points in the next 9 games to hit 40 (which will match a career high in almost 30 fewer games) and hopefully that level of play will carry over into the playoffs, where he already has a history of stepping up his game.

Anyone remember the commercial, from around the mid-90's, where Yzerman is sharpening his skates and throws one into the wall like an axe, I think it was a playoff commercial for ESPN or ESPN2. Looked everywhere for it, can't find it. They also did one where a player (Jeff Odgers I think) was growing nose hair instead of a playoff beard. Not finding them anywhere online.

That looks pretty similar to the move that Wojtek Wolski uses, but Wolski usually finishes on the forehand and Crosby finished on the backhand there. That was a great shootout move, no surprise that a guy with Crosby's skill could pull it off, but all I can say about Barnaby's comment is Holy Hyperbole Batman! That wasn't even the sickest shootout move of the season, let alone all time. Let's face it, even if one was not predisposed to Red Wings players, how can anyone argue that Datsyuk's move against Chicago was not the dirtiest dangle ever, he took his patented jockstrap remover and made it even more embarrassing by adding the lob shot to it.

^agreed There didn't appear to be intent to head-hunt, but Backes is a spot-picker, and I wouldn't put it past him to try to injure one of our players. Hopefully Rafalski doesn't have any lasting effects, didn't appear to affect him much the rest of the game. Speaking of injuries, any word on Holmstrom?

Yeah, I was just watching Roy's last game as a Canadien, Dec. 2nd 1995 a date which will live in awesomeness.

I had to vote the 2nd option, as much as I like Filppula, and as hot as his line has been lately, I think he will fall just shy, but I hope I'm wrong. His whole line is incredibly streaky this year, and I don't see him maintaining a PPG pace for 10 more games.
