From your mouth to Young Floating Mike Babcock's ears:

If you decide to go, I'll see you there, as will about 10,000 other Wings fans, many of whom I'm sure lurk about these boards. 1) I've been to several games at the Forum, you heard correctly, there are no bad seats. I'm too cheap to try to get lower-bowl seats, but every section I've sat in at the terrace level has had great sight lines. 2) They check tickets before you can go down the steps for the lower bowl, so unless your tickets are in the 100's I'd guess probably no ice level for warmups. 3) Expect to pay about $10, plenty of places to park within 15 minutes walking distance from the arena, well lit streets with plenty of police presence, locals are pretty friendly towards visiting fans, never had a single issue. 4) Don't know, but closest hotels are Marriott Waterside, Embassy Suites Downtown Convention Center, and Westin Harbor Island, probably one of them. 5) The Channel District has lots of decent restaurants, can't speak to the bars/nightlife since I don't drink, but check out the these links for more info Hope to see you (and a healthier Red Wings lineup) there, I'm in section 322, I'll be wearing my black Wings sweater, my very pregnant wife will be wearing a red Yzerman sweater, and my son will be wearing the road white

You never fail to entertain, Karen. What concerns me is not the quantity of our injured list, but the quality. Last time we had Z and D out for the same game we looked terrible, but that was before the kid line went on a tear, and we were still without Franzen and Helm, so hopefully the result will be much better this time and we can let bodies heal.

Sucks that it only saves $100k towards the cap, but the fact that Holland made this move speaks volumes, almost like he's acknowledging that he made a mistake. Now, let's hope Mule can come back in and quickly regain the scoring touch and snarl he had before the concussion, he should bump Cleary off the PP completely.
-
Could you make a signature banner out of the captains pane at the top of today's GDT? The one with Yzerman, Lidstrom, Zetterberg and Howe.
-
Good call, while I don't see this move making much of a difference on the score sheet, we need bigger bodies in the lineup against LA and Anaheim, especially if Datsyuk and/or Helm can't go in either game.
-
Is it wrong of me to be surprised that Cleary was actually able to hit that open net?
-
Agreed, since they phased the purple out of their new look, the Kings sweaters have looked incredibly plain and dull, nice touch going with silver as the primary color, but as OP stated it might make for difficult visibility against the white ice surface with guaranteed sun glare.

Cleary needs to be riding the pine, but if he's gonna be in this lineup he should be on the 4th line, and please for the love of Pete don't put Smith and Quincey back together: Tatar-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Franzen-Zetterberg-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Miller Cleary-Andersson-Samuelson Kronwall-Ericsson Kindl-Smith Quincey-Lashoff kthxbye

Pretty sure it was Roman Josi from the Preds that broke his jaw.
-
Max Talbot is playing goal for the Rangers now? This may be just the break our struggling offense needs, or we hand an unproven goalie his first NHL win, we've done it enough times before.

^Manbearpig Hard to say who is the ugliest between Kennedy, Couture, and Ricci, they all look like they belong in a carnival freakshow

Two of my best contributions to the internet:

Just came here to say that our bottom six needs a lot less Cleary and Samuelsson and a LOT more Tatar, Nyquist, and TooToo. Oh, and Go Wings!

Plus we need a former Wolverine to balance out the former Spartans we have on the team -

Like he'll end up on waivers rather than part of a trade, barely noticed him out there. -

GCL has Wings/Leafs They are re-feeding the Toronto feed from GCL, no Detroit feed unfortunately. -
I'm Pro-Bertuzzi all the way, I highly doubt he is even considering retirement at this point. I say keep him in the bottom-six rotation, let him sit every 3rd game or so unless injuries necessitate him being in the lineup every day. We need to have a guy his size that is willing to stand up for teammates if they get run. Also, I'd like to see what he could teach a guy like Sheahan, big body with slick hands, if he could pick up some pointers from Bert he'd be on his way to becoming a legit power forward.

I need a new keyboard, thanks. Seriously though, that link was kinda light on details, seems like a pretty significant development that warrants more than just an afterthought, anyone know more about this situation?

They won't release the update for 2013-14 until probably the week before or the first week of the regular season, if past seasons are any indication. -
Looking forward to seeing the Forum in Tampa filled with red twice this season.
-
NY Islanders - Tavares, no-brainer Dallas - Benn, also a no-brainer Ottawa - Karlsson would be my pick, but wouldn't be surprised if it is Spezza Buffalo - Ville Leino (j/k probably Stafford or Ehrhoff) Columbus - JMFJ or Dubinsky Calgary - Giordano Tampa - St. Louis, with Stamkos being the obvious successor when Marty retires Edmonton - Eberle
