Well since I have my GF in my avatar pic with me, yes she is a huge wings fan. her whole family is from the UP so they are all wings fans so she naturally has picked up watching them pretty easily. Me and her dad get along just fine too cause he's a big wings fan. Its definitely a perk to not fight over the TV when the wings are on when she wants to watch the games and not only watches the games, but gets into the games. The moment she made the jump from casual fan to hardcore fan was after game 3 overtime loss last year against the sharks and she was more pissed about the game than I was.

I can understand ***** boy's frustration, after a long night of being pounded on defensively by Z and company I would be pretty frustrated too. But to just all out cross check someone who was just doing his job is just really bitchy hence our problem. Its not really the way he plays the game itself because he really is that skilled of a player, its the way he retaliates after being hounded by other players. Its the little slashes and cross checks and spears and embellishes that he does that just erks opposing fans to the core. Thats my theory of why so many people hate him, its because he plays the, I'm gonna slash the back of your knee and skate away like it never happened type of game. Its was getting out of hand and had to stop somewhere. Im all for unions and stuff but cmon NHLPA you can't really defend this guy and let the players just run rampant with these crazy contracts that aren't realistic. I mean at the Z deal have him playing until he was 40 or so and can easily retire with one year left without a fuss. Kovalchuck would still have frickin 5 years left when he's 40. Sorry players union but i gotta side with "the man" on this one its just getting too crazy.

I don't know about the best offseason ever. Definitely one of the better ones though, I think the best one ever would have to go to the summer of 01, adding hull, robitaille, and Hasek in one offseason was the biggest offseason ever IMO. adding that kind of firepower to an already potent roster in Yzerman and Co.

This is seriously the biggest relief in my summer. Best offseason in a while waaaaaay better than last years offseason. especially watching the hawks get tor down, that s*** was just great!

I could see if helm gets a little too complacent like last year at times, that draper could steal that spot for a time or even from abby if he isn't performing to his potential.

How are those repeat chances looking now with a s***ty ass goalie with a rookie as backup. oh but they still have their "core" of great players yea with a bunch of scrub rookies and cast offs from other teams. who do they still have from this core Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Kieth, Seabrook, Campbell, Kjalmerson. Soooooo they can ice a championship team with that???? OO wait I forgot they still have the saving grace in thomas kopecky. I can't believe they had the gonads to post that stupid story on NHL.com without dying from laughter.

I was just watching a the player highlights on NHL.com and Modano still has one hell of a shot. He can blast the puck like crazy with some accuracy too. If all the rumors are true about him comin to the D, that third line will put on a f***in clinic!!! Its just up to him when he wants to return, he's 40 and needs time to test his body for a grooling season, don't forget when you play for Detroit you got a BIG target on your back, especially if your modano in a winged wheel.

It was a joy to watch them prove everyone wrong about them being too old and too slow. They killed with the puck possession they displayed and seeing Nick hoist the cup as the wings captain was the best thing ive seen in a while. That and it was the most recent.

I am sorry but i cant be a tampa fan, their fans have no clue about hockey and that franchise is one of the last that deserves stevie. I mean i will pay more attention to the team but I will not be a fan, i just don't care for warm weather teams except maybe LA cause they're good and they have a pretty solid fan base. I'm habs all the way for the east, if not them then probably philly or boston.

I can see it now ovi dumps the puck in and talbot and ovi both go for it and ovi just DECKS talbot into the boards and gets a two gamer for boarding or a hit from behind. broken collar bone for talbot oh and a broken ego.

I can see this guy really lighting it up next year, he could be a versteeg type player and just be that solid 3rd or 4th line guy you can turn to for big goals by role players. Eaves is the man! I hope he scraps some more this coming season it was fun watching him fight versteeg they beat the piss out of eachother.

yep I'm with you on this one. There could have been about 12 teams that could have been in this thing that is now ruined because all they care about is pushing things down loyal hockey fan's throats. Its so f***in disney its sickening.

What if we did what pitt did and just replace him with two solid d men and bring up kronwall to play with raffi and stuart play with new guy. I see kronwall having a solid year next year barring any injuries.
