Awful.

Also Anaheim is going for the need, the need for speed. Damn, Cogliano will fit in nicely there I reckon. I'm surprised for the lack of love for him since he played some college hockey at Michigan.
-
Darn. I like Cogliano and I dislike Anaheim. s***e.

I don't think so otherwise I wouldn't have said anything. Abs is the better skater imo. Abby is more physical but that's no shocker and he sucked in the playoffs....yup. Very hard to be conistently great/good come every playoff year for a player. Miller might be a better on the PK but Abby has more upside. Abs is a little younger too. And there was a reason why Babcock was playing Abs on the second line last year when we had those string of injures over half way through the season. Back on topic and I'm done with the Abs vs Miller comparisons Emmerton is our 14th forward
-
For sure Miller has a chance over Abby. But I doubt it. Abby also had THE TEAM BEST +/- last year at +15. But I think Abby's faster, a better skater and is more physical that's why Babs played him a little more than Miller last year except for maybe on the PK (probably for both was about the same amount of ice time). I'm just saying I think Abs is earning his spot on this team but not just not with points yet.
-
Doubt it. Abs will be bounced probably from 3-4th line throughout the season pending on injuries. I think Abs and Helm take a huge step this season more so for Helm but maybe for Abs too. Abs was playing on the 2nd line last season when we had those string of injureies over half way through the season. Babcock likes Abs work ethic and his playing time shows whether it's on the PK, 3rd or 4th line and or filling in on the second line. Abs just like Helm needs to find some sort of finishing touch on scoring. Or just being more consistent for both of them. On regards to this thread. Emmerton most likely will be the 14th forward unless Conner really shows up at camp. Our forwards are set in stone and I think Babs knows the lineup already before even the start of camp. Only surprise I think will be if we ending up getting a top 6 forward at the trade deadline.

For some odd reason besides having the pipedreamish idea of having Stamkos on the Wings. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Leafs or Canadiens jersey. Still baffled that Stamkos hasn't resigned in Tampa Bay. What's going on Stevie Y?
-
I would say last year Datsyuk was the best russian player and maybe the best player in the world. Kinda like soccer where the best player in the world is always changing ever year.

WMU head coach finalist for Wings' assistant coaching spot
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to CenterIce's topic in General
Dunno much about him besides the numbers at Western Michigan last season. But if Holland and co. are interested. Hmmmm why not? -
Hahah just saw this. Good for Carolina!
-
Maybe the Hawks got tougher maybe maybe not. Regardless the games vs us should be good as always this year. Looking forward already to this upcoming season.

Babs seems real uptight and tbh I think that's what coaches need to be at especially at the NHL level. Some medium between being an ass and being to easy going. I think Babs is a solid coach and I think it's a plus that some players don't/or didn't like playing for him. Coaches need to be somewhat strict to keep players in line. I think Babs does a solid job at this. On another note this should be moved to the rumor mill section.
-
No thanks on him another player over the age of 35 that is on the downside. Big NO.
-
Good price and worthy for a trade somewhere down the line
-
If Stamkos somehow goes to the Flyers. s***e.

Wings looking to sign Drury?

Why isn't this in the rumor mill thread? -
Wings offered Jovanovski 2 years, $5 million

I don't see anything still wrong with that first hit. And the second is solid as well contributing to a great goal. -
"We feel good with the people we have," Holland said

Perfectly said. -
Yeah saw that but doubt the league takes action. I don't see anything serious happening but who knows...
-
True but nevermind those two. I'm talking about Tatar, Sheahan, Callahan and or Nyquist. Also throw in like Helm or Abs in there with a 1st rounder. That seems more realistic and I wouldn't do it but that's just me.
-
echos myron I agree with you but let's not forget that we have some pretty good prospects and a lot of teams I would say look up to us in that regard or to our organization. So we might have some sort of advantage but still unlikely. Even if we somehow got Yandle or Doughty in one of thes pipedream situations I think that would mean we are going to trade either Stuart or Ericsson and or maybe Smith along with other people. Don't know if I would want that though either...
-
I'll say no thanks as well. We need some younger legs and Arnott even though can still shoot the puck and be physical al times, he can't skate well anymore imo. Arnott's sort of like as mentioned earlier Bert or Homer so in that regard no thank you.
-
I'd love to have him but it seems unlikely.
-
Opinions on him? I've always liked him although I think he lacks consistency but he's youngish and worth a gamble in my opinion. However I don't know if he's a top 6 guy and my gut feeling says no. So therefore we probably don't have room for him here in Detroit. Thoughts?

I'm glad he turned it down as well. I personally like White better too and a lot younger as well.
