Paul MacLean named head coach of Senators
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to TheCaptain19's topic in General
I like what MacLean said about Abs, Helm, Kronwall and Ericsson. He sees even more potential out of all of them. In all honestly I know most the board doesn't like Ericsson but I really hope we sign him just not for the over paid check price... -
I wouln't be surprised if Minnesota makes him an offer and he takes it.

Wings - Flyers Trade Partners?
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to Hockey13Playa's topic in General
If we could somehow get Carter I'm all for it. Make it happen Kenny.... -
Sounds like teams are interested in Todd for a head coaching spot as in Winnipeg, Columbus and maybe Dallas. Also hearing we (Detroit) are interested in him as our new defensive coach. Thoughts?
-
I mean something about having Richards as our defensive coach I like. He obviously was a defensive minded coach and yes Wild games for the most part were boringish. However, I'm not opposed to him coming here especially if he's on the defensive side of things helping out the defense. He could help out our defensive system big time imo...
-
Not really saying he doesn't want his name on the cup again. But coming to Detroit for a chance at the cup isn't going to happen for Richards. Maybe it's Tampa but honestly they have to sign Stamkos (probably long term) and goaltending and some other players as well. I don't know if Steve is going to be able to sing Richards (long term) if that is what Richards is seeking. In any case Toronto is highly rumored but when isn't Toronto highly rumored for every big UFA. lol

Flyers acquire Bryzgalov's rights
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
Obviously Philly can't afford him and if they do I'm fully expecting other moves by them more likey "trades". Bryzgalov wanting somewhere near $6-7 million a season for 3 years. A big LOL. -
This....

Richards is not gonna sign for us for a "shot at the cup". He has his name on the cup ffs. He wants a long term deal which we can't offer tbh.

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Thomas is /was great tonight. Vancouver just scored. lol Otherwise this is a pretty comical game tbh... -
hahahaha
-
True. But tt's most certainly gonna be several years.
-
Yeah but honestly you think a paycut is going to be anything lower than $7 million?
-
Yeah I can see that but no more than $8 million. He'll probably end up getting something between $7-8 million. And for what you mentioned Crymson I don't see Tampa Bay signing him like that since they have to sign some key compenants this summer the biggest being Stamkos. Richards coming to Detroit is a pipedream but I would love to have him even if he isn't exactly what we need. Better shot at getting Parise I think than Richards Probably not though
-
Richards isn't going to take a pay cut anywhere or discounted price for anyone. Especially not us. I'll eat my own words if it happens but highly doubtful. Maybe Tampa but doubtful as well. Richards is looking for something probably at $7 million for 5-6 years at least.

Gilbert Brule picks up Bono hitchhiking
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to T.Low's topic in General
Cute story. -
Would love to see Richards in uniform but highly doubtful. Anything's possible I suppose. Reasonable destinations would probably be NYR, LA and TB. Maybe Toronto or Carolina as long shots?
-
I see Ericcson going to either the NYR or Toronto. Let them have him...

SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks
St. Michael (the Red Wing) replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Great goaltending battle. BORING. I stopped watching after the second. Did I say Nucks in 6? Better make it 5. -
No more "vets" please. We have enough of them on our team. I think it's about time to start thinking towards the future with some young guys stepping up whether they are ready or not.
-
I love Stuart to death I really do. I hope we do keep him which I'm pretty sure Holland will get something done soon. Might depend on maybe how the team shapes up after summer. However with Stuart's play these last couple of seasons. Of everything he brings like someone mentioned earlier grit, tough in the defensive end corners, tough in front of the net and some streaky offense. I get pissed at Stuart cause imo he seems to take games OFF over these last couple of seasons. When he wants to play he can play soundly as 3rd d-man on our team.
-
I like this kid, he sounds very promising and keeping our fingers crossed that he reaches beyond his potential. Sort of sounds like mini Rafalski to me....
-
No thank you. However I wouldn't be surprised to see Holland consider him if the price is right...

Maybe sign him up and try to use him as our 6-7th d-man?
