Since we have a few hours of downtime between games, did anyone just watch the British bobsledding crash? My god, the helmet thrower looks like a psychopath! Actually, if anyone pissed me off during this Olympics, its been the British... there press was attacking Canada daily, making sensationalist comments like "Own the podium kills luger" and other bulls***, even blaming Canada for the weather. I just dont get the British press, are they premptively attacking because they know they are going to f*** the Summer Olympics up.

Kinda wish they did have influence, then we wouldnt see hockey games on at like 6 in the morning when the games move to Russia.

Watching the closing ceremonys has to rank up there with the most epically boring things you can watch on TV, does anyone actually do it?

Does anyone really care what the IOC has to say? That said, im kinda staggered to see elite athletes smoking cigars, I thought smoking made you a pariah these days, triply so among the athletic crowd. Said as an ex-smoker who remembers what sanctimonious pricks non-smoking health nuts could be.

Once again, I am saying you can't call the audience at an event like the Olympics Canadians, they aren't. Here, The audience was 100% Canadian and every single person in it was wearing a Team Canada jersey. Will that put it to rest?

But its the Olympics were are talking about here, and one of the most high profile games in the Olympics. Don't get me wrong, Canadians are by far the most populous members of the audience, but millions of people from around the world are at the games and this is a big ticket event. So calling the audience Canadians, is just wrong.

CTV, which mentioned nothing. And, I am not arguing that the crowd wasn't against the USA or werent pro Canada, they were, I am saying that its an International Audience, so you can't just say Canadians. And this is why the argument is silly, its down to semantics.

Spending a ton of time in enemy territory and often as devils advocate, sometimes you get confused. That said, I wouldnt say that was sarcasm.

Your HDTV is much much much more HD than mine, as I am not seeing that. I see a fair bit of red ( maybe 25% of the audience ), but all them being Canadian hockey jerseys... no. All told though, its a really silly argument.

Again, as part of my its an international crowd, these tickets were sold YEARS ago, before anyone knew what teams would be involved. So, you can't really blame the Seattle-ittes, as they wouldn't know the US would be playing today.

That doesnt mean they were Canadians.... Hockey games are the premium ticket item in the Olympics, maybe second behind figureskating, if... There are bound to be a lot of internationals in attendance. Also, don't use the red as an indicator, apparently HBC Olympic clothing is flying off the shelf, and Oprah apparently is partly responsible.

As this game seems to be pretty much over.... I'll open the first of my many hockey beers for today. Got a Duchy Originals Organic Ale, picked it up off the shelf site unseen, apparently Prince Charles founded the brewery... had I known that, I probably wouldnt have purchased it. Just had a sip and remembered I really dont like ales....

They mentioned something interesting during the break. After Kippy screwed up in the first period, resulting in a goal, not a single Finnish player came back to say anything to him, they all just put there heads down and skated to the bench. Then after the 3rd goal, he tries to pull himself. Do the Finnish players have so little chemistry/comradry? I know Oli Jokinen has a reputation of being pure cancer in the locker room, is it all just a Finnish thing?

I would leave the decision to Miller, if I was coach. If the final game was tomorrow whoever, I would pull him.
