Actually, im not sure regarding the 3m rule, but its called that way all the time in the NHL. I have seen many too many men calls in NHL games because players collided or came into contact with the puck during a line change.

This is just silly. A penalty is a penalty, regardless to what the score is. Hell, 4 goals isnt exactly insurmountable, and that really doesn't matter. Even if the score was 26-2, a penalty is a penalty and should be called the same regardless. This, in a nutshell, is the problem with 90% of officiating anyways. Penalty calls should not be relative... there should be no "make up" calls, score should have no influence on a penalty, nor should the players reputation. Sadly, refs are still humans, and often stupid humans, so this is never going to go away. Regardless, if it was your team, you would not have the same attitude and you know it.

Why? Personally, I don't want to see the Leafs improve and I doubt you want to see the leafs improve....

Actually, that is a penalty. That is actually the exact definition of the penalty. The player leaving the ice cannot in any way come into contact with the play, even accidental.

If this team Canada showed up in that Canada USA game, I think things would have turned out much much much differently. That said, thats Olympic hockey. One bad game, you're dead.

Wow, NO defense. Whats the, the 4th two on one the goalie had no chance on. Amazing tape on tape and coordination by Canada. Frankly, if I was on any other team in this tourny, I would finally start to feel nervous!

You can't call an Olympic crowd a "Canadian" crowd, especially when vancouver is what... 2 hours from Seattle. I don't think you were so much hearing Canada cheer against the USA, more... the world cheering against the USA. Umm... if that makes you feel better. ( Also, everyone loves an underdog. Frankly, I was cheering for the Swiss when they played against Canada )

Actually, I am a Canadian having a conversation on an American hockey forum, exactly because I am sick of "informed" answers. Canadians as a demographic know their hockey pretty well, probably as good as anyone in the world, but when it comes to the Olympics, they are a pretty annoying bunch to listen to, every penalty is a plot against us, etc... Its either a crowd of people blindly ignorant to our faults, or a group of chicken littles yelling about how the sky is falling.

Bad goal by Luongo. To be honest, I am glad Canada is dominating offensively, as Luongo really hasn't been very good. Do we start Fluery next?

Actually, even as a Canadian, im not a huge fan of our current lineup. I miss the character guys we had in prior Olympics, the days when we had Yzerman, Sakic, Iginla, Lemuix, Shanahan, Gretzky all on the same team... DAMN. Now, so many of these players ( Crosby, Heatley ) are just so unlikable. At least Phaneuf didn't make the team! This is probably the douchiest team Canada line up in recent memory. Oh, and personally I think Babs has been pretty terrible, but that is in a different post if you want to discuss that. That said, they are Canadian, I am Canadian, and 4-1!

Im shocked at how much of a non factor Ovechkin has been. To me, he is the greatest active hockey player, but you should wouldn't know it this game.

Amusing that so many Americans chose to cheer for Russia over Canada. In a Russia/USA game, I don't know who I would cheer for.

I would pull him personally, but that said, his defense have hung him out to dry this game.
