Who is in net once Nabby gets pulled?
-
Agreed, if Russia doesn't call a time out to settle things down, their coach deserves a beating.
-
3-0! Canada woke up!
-
Honestly yes. I call weak calls on both sides and I view most obstruction calls as BS, regardless to if its in my teams favor or not. I frankly hate HATE the way obstruction calls are handed out in "Todays NHL", as basically its often 2 minutes for playing defence! Canada scores! Love the intensity sofar... this is the first time Canada has looked like an elite team!
-
What, the blown call, by the American ref? EDIT: Blown might be too strong... weak is definitely appropriate.
-
Terrible call by the American ref LaRue.
-
Are we watching the same game? Personally, I am watching the one on TV. You know, in reality. Be as sour as you want, there is nothing to fault Canada or the refs for so far. About the only blown call was a missed too many men call, and that wasn't for Canada.
-
... it is an international crowd you know, and nothing to say they are even hockey fans. That said, Canada 1-0, could easily be 3-0 now, nice start by Canada! By far their best start.
-
Well, here goes... go Canada. ( For the record, I hate cheering for Cindy Crosby as well! )
-
Another thing I learned from the Canada Germany game, if you didn't watch it. Apparently, they can call down to investigate a missed goal, even if no on ice officials saw it. However, if there has been a faceoff, the goal will not be counted.

Today is going to be the BEST hockey day in a long, long time!

For reasons I have never understood, stellar international play rarely translates to the NHL. I mean, if that was the case, Hnat Dommechelli would have an NHL job. Besides, its not exactly like Ryan Miller was an unknown player. -

Dominate? Really? You and I have a much different grasp of the English language. -
Ah, ok, then .... GO CANADA

Is there going to be a Canada/Russia GDT, or do I have to hunt elsewhere?
-
One giant negative I would say for Team USA... shots were 42-19 or something like that, but to be honest I can't think of too many that Hiller stole. Like Canada, the Americans are getting a ton of shots on net, but how many quality chances were there?
-
CTV announcer just said " For the second straight game, the American's just got some pretty nice officiating. Just saying". Exact quote. Frankly, I don't really know what he is saying, outside of the missed trip, I don't know that I would say the refs made any mistakes in that game.

Just be glad you werent forced to watch Ice Dancing 40 minutes ago!

IIHF rules in PDf format. http://www.iihf.com/channels10/olympics-20.../men/rules.html I would look it up, but Foxit doesn't play well in Chrome and frankly, im lazy.

Looks like 2-0 USA. Congrats on the win. I think you now all understand how Canada went to extra innings to take on the Swiss. If you think about it, the Swiss got absolutely screwed with the schedule they got. That said, good on you Swiss, you did a hell of a lot better than you probably should have!
-
Announcer is right, Swiss are dead on their feet, and it shows.
-
I actually like the international hockey does it. Think about it, how much happens on near goals or following near goals... I mean, look what happened there, a goal may have been scored, then it was skated to the other end of the rink and a goal actually was scored! Makes for much more exciting hockey without the excessive stops. I like the idea of let them play and sort it out all later.
-
If the Swiss goal was a goal, any goal that happened after would be a non-goal. That said, amazingly enough, I do believe there still would have been the penalty.
-
Wow, that was crazy... two non goals in one play! ( Are site slowdowns normal here? Having trouble connecting )
-
Yeah, I just saw the alternative camera they judged from. The CTV feed was much less obvious. Thank god there is no real question, I hate games being decided on controversial goals... especially an Olympic game.

I was torn with this emotion watching the Swiss play against Canada. I mean, I am Canadian and am supposed to cheer for Canada. BUT, watching the game I was actually cheering for the Swiss to a certain degree. Granted, that wasn't an elminiation game. They just showed the IIHF camera, from that vantage, it was a complete no goal, puck was clearly on the line at 0.0 seconds.
