I just think that putting the pressure of being the undisputed #1 goalie in Montreal on Price is too much for him to handle. He's done nothing but crack under pressure and at no point has he shown us that he is capable of being a consistent #1 goalie. With Halak they stood a chance. With Price....I honestly think they will miss the playoffs next season.

I'll take a sure thing over potential any day. Halak has proven that he can be an excellent playoff goalie. Meanwhile Price hasn't even proven that he deserves to be a #1 goalie. Sure, he's younger & cheaper, but what exactly does that mean? I'm young, cheap and horny but you don't see any offers coming my way. I think Montreal made a mistake right here. You've seen the Maple Leafs do the exact same thing when they chose Justin Pogge over Tuuka Rask. Pogge was suppose to be "the future", but anyone with two eyes could clearly see that Rask was better. Oh well, have fun Montreal. You've made a terrible mistake and now you will pay the "price"

Either way I think the trade was a good move from Toronto's perspective. Even if he never "gets jiggy with it" again he can still be a very valuable mentor for Jonas Gustavsson. Is it a coincidence that Gustavssons play dramatically improved after the addition of Giguere? I don't think so. I would have traded Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala for a bag of expired Doritos

I completely agree. Everyone keeps analyzing the D, but in my opinion the weakest link was Vesa Toskala. Lots of the Leafs losses this season came during games where the Leafs outshot and outplayed their opponent. All the Leafs needed to win those games was average goaltending and Toskala couldn't even provide that. Refusing to take instructions from his goalie coach Francois Allare and having an "I don't give a s***" attitude didn't help matters either. I laughed my ass off when Anaheim dealt him without even playing him. I guess it didn't take long for them to realize he is crap.

I haven't been watching at all to be honest. I just can't take this tournament seriously when so many great players don't even bother to go. Captain Ray Whitney? ***** please.

WRONG!!! Sorry, but as a former Toronto Maple Leafs fan I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that the majority of Leafs fans actually love Tomas Kaberle. The key issue here is that the team is going through a re-build! They don't want to get rid of Kaberle but they realize the fact that they NEED to in order to survive. F.Michael was correct when he said that Kaberle has 3-4 good years left and Leafs fans would be foolish to think that he will be part of Burkes "final plan".
