I recently bought tickets to the april 7th game at the jla. I've never been and my dad wanted me to see it before its no longer around. I bought the tickets through stub hub, which I've never had a problem with before. The tickets came quickly but I just want to make sure that they are real. They are mostly red and a littlle white. No pictures of players. And they look somewhat cheaply made. Do these sound like general 200 level seats tickets? I would hate to drive 6 hours and have them be fake. Is there a way to verify the validity of them? Besides that any advice on places to stay (hotels) or places to grab dinner? Possibly get some drinks after the game? Just general must see's and do's. Any advice is appreciated.

Its not so much my dad with the information, its more me... following news about DT detroit. Illitch wants to basically rebuild detroit and don't be naive enough to think that JLA is going to be around for a ton longer. There are rumors most off-seasons regarding the fate of JLA. Why a pay phone?

Sweet! Sounds like im just being overly cautious. Any must go to restaurants in the area?

Yea I thought it was going to be a really bad hit... but that looked not nearly as bad. I would be surprised if he got a suspension as it wasn't that egregious.

Fairly old goal, but that's in a really crappy Turkish league or something. Not saying the goal isn't ridiculous but I don't see that happening at a high level of hockey with good competition.

I get the feeling a lot if people didn't play hockey and don't appreciate how dirty this play really is. Im ok with 5, just wanted him suspended.

I think that having someone retire simply because they aren't super elite anymore is complete bs. I for one know that if I made it to the nhl and was able to play there id play as long as I possibly could. The idea that their legacy is getting tarnished is a fan created dilemma that shouldn't even come into the picture when someones personal choice to retire is on the table. Of course if that is something the player feels its a totally different story.

I am pretty sure just 1 goalie is actually chosen via the fan vote. So Reimer will get an undeserved spot (I say undeserved because the dude didn't play part of this season and hasn't put up incredible numbers). The next 5 will be chosen by the league. The only spots fan selected are 3 forwards (any position), 2 D, and 1G. Then we get the draft again... love it!

What people fail to realize is the vote is only for those first 6 positions. Beyond that the fan vote has 0 relevance. Anyone saying he will get a few days rest doesn't get it. Jimmy Howard will be in this years asg unless the wings claim an injury. And one period of work isn't going to kill the kid.

Anyone else really enjoying watching the Oilers young guns? They are a fun team to watch.

Nice save... gotta give some credit to ballard for his awesomeness as well!

Who would he be replacing?? Or filling in for?

NHL 36: "unprecedented documentary series".
Sprsquirt7 replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
As much as kane is a doucher, its a good pick for the nhl. They don't care why you view but that you view it. Pretty sure its the howard stern theory based on when he started. It was like half the listeners liked him and wanted to see what he'd do next, the other half hated him and wanted to see what he'd do next. Very similar situation and I bet a lot of people who dislike him still tune in to see it. -
Only 6 spots are spoken for when it comes to fan voting. Howard wont get in on fan vote but I would be he gets in via merit. No doubt it'd be nice to have rest but its 1intercollegiate period and some skills stuff... come on lol. Plus last year they got it pretty much right. Where they had the same process.

Awesome, good to hear thanks!

NHL Network is reporting Datsyuk left with a LB injury...what happened?

The sad thing in the states at least is that they have a statute of limitations on these types of crimes. Bernie Fine (syracuse asst coach) cannot be charged by the two individuals that came out about their molestation because of the statute of limitations. I would be 100% for removing the limit on these types of crimes.

Kronwall and Stuart may be hitting a lot less now
Sprsquirt7 replied to jollymania's topic in General
Jolly, Fistric was leaving the ice when he made that hit. You are technically right that his feet were still in contact with the ice when the hit was made. But you are completely ignoring hte fact that the only piece of his skate that was on the ice were like the toe of the blade... No one can skate like that. He was launching himself upward before contact was made. There are times when I agree kronwall is on that borderline but i don't recall him launching that much upward. Neidereitter (sp) was leaning back, it wasn't like the force that fistric made was even close to the same he received. I probably wouldn't have suspended him as I think it was a fairly solid hit, but I also don't have a problem with it. Launching upwards into a player is illegal, this isn't a brand new thing. Just the way I am seeing things. Kronwall definitely can live on this borderline. also rewatched the two videos, that specific hit for kronwall would have maybe garnered a suspension becuase he lept because his angle was off by a foot or two. Stuarts in no way would be considered leaping into his opponent, he made it like 2-3 inches off the ice with the full hit. Fistric had a good half foot or more at the apex of his hit/jump. You don't sky rocket that high with those big hits. Other kronwall hits aren't likely that blatant. But you are right about that one hit. -
Maybe this will allow a slight bit of closure for the victims. Still took too long.

That was really cool to watch.

I understand that in the past in Russia in particular players would get neglected because of never playing in the NHL but come on... The NHL is the BEST level of hockey bar none. There is 0 arguing that. International accomplishments are part of the discussion, Olympic golds, International Tournaments, etc. but they are not the whole of it nor the majority. A hockey players season is long and consists of many games. The international stuff is a month at its longer end and ends up happening only every so often. Olympics every 4 years for example. It stands to reason that the best players in the world are in the NHL, have played in the NHL, and made themselves HOF worthy in the NHL. The majority of a players career is done in the league that they play and represent. So with that wouldn't you have to regard someone with say 1000 points in the NHL higher than someone with 1000 points in another league? The HOF is for the BEST players in the game of hockey, its not the NHL's fault that the BEST players all come here. Also the speech was awesome

Don't worry everyone, I wore red wings attire today and I'm going to get to watch the whole game. Every game i've fully watched and worn gear on we won. As soon as I stopped watching the losing started, Sorry it took me 5 games to get back

Nyquist already done? Was he rotating in? Weird they would bring him up for just one game. Nevermind, was out of the loop today because i really didn't want to focus on the negativity that last nights loss was going to bring. Saw he was sent to GR.

The points in the standings is almost irrelevant until the end of the year as a motivation factor. The main thing right now is they want to play, they need to play, but the schedule sucks so they are stuck at practice for days at a time. I know id hate to wait thay long especially if it was my job, it would feel like I was being prevented from what im supposed to do.
