These 5 days off between games is aggrevating... that said hockey is hockey its nice to have it period. Hopefully vs has decent announcers and not a snoozefest of a game.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/The-Detroit-Red-Wings-8217-realignment-concess?urn=nhl-wp14717#remaining-content I for one am all for this one, but im in the cat time zone.

I posted it because I didn't see the link elsewhere and the other post was simply about the southeast... is it really that bad?

Giroux is partially to blame for that hit. 2 people going into the corner and one stops 10 feet from the boards right in front of the biggest guy in the league. Id venture to say he knew what he was doing. Not all his fault though.

Helm is someone you will undoubtedly notice as he is lightning out there. He has been my favorite wing for a few years and someone to get to know.

Umm that's exactly the type of hit that is being suspended. Plus he was injured. I say 2 games... but its a player not likely to play in the nil right away. -
Its regular season.... luongo is good then. And crawford doesn't deserve to be above howard. Id gladly take howard later in a draft as one of my starters!

Yea I explained it in my previous post, you can call it varsity all you want. The trouble is when you talk about club sports it has a rinky dink connotation to it. ACHA is far from this little like after school program. Its not near NCAA stuff by any means but a lot of places do really well with the club teams. The reason why people stray away from using the word club is because most people will assume to many things that the word brings along with it. Wings1110 wants to be technical, then yes its club. But there are definite shades of grey with using club and acha. Just saying.
-
I played acha as well, acha is still technically club hockey but its inter collegiate so the word club carries a diff connotation than what it means for acha. Acha d1 and acha d2(top teams) would be equivalent to some d3 ncaa schools. Its very competitive and actually pretty decent hockey. I played for illinois state university in college. The michigan teams in d2 pretty much dominate the national stage. As far was I could have made it if I had been more dedicated to fitness and getting stronger. I feel I have natural talent and mindset for low level pro, but the body was never at that level. Also if computer games hadnt taken so much of my time in my youth. Alas I got to play in college and still enjoy any time I get on the ice

I saw this months ago on puck daddy, I watched it over and over just to see if I could see the ref prior too. No such luck though, its pretty cool though.

Thought I was at the end of the thread, disreagard orignal statement, damn phone.

I wonder if people actually read the article or just decided to skim the 10 and *****. I think its a fairly solid list and he goes to explain his picks pretty well. Jvr isn't new but he is right about his potential. Sadly only one I see him being substantially off on is Tatar

Very sad regardless of what you thought of the guy. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=562783&navid=mod-rr-headlines

The thing is withbour current line up, you have nearly unlimited possibilities of line changes. Helm can move up, holmstrom can move down as the game goes on. There are a lot of possibilities with this line up. If we can keep certain people on sj nulified we will be fine. Let our lines out play theirs. We need to continually confuse mclellean(sp). Im confident we can push it to 6.

Im not 100% sure but I am almost positive that Helm got called for a dive against SJ in the playoffs last year. Only a dive no other penalties. He lost and edge got up and kept going. They still called the dive to give them one of their many 5 on 3's that series. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but thats an example for the OP.

I've had my helm jersey for nearly a year now, He is by far my favorite player to watch play besides datsyuk. Dats just still amazes me with everything he does and he'll always be my favorite to watch play the game. But helm has been my favorite since he debuted in the playoffs. His speed is truly remarkable. I was never the fast kid while playing. Had to use my smarts and other attributes. So I think thats why I like helm so much, he's the player i was never able to be but was always jealous of. I am unbelievably happy that he is starting to become better offensively. Its hard for others to understand how you can have a favorite player because he is an incredible PK'er and good defensive center with crazy speed. Now I can say he's at least becoming an offensive threat. Glad to see im not alone!
