Ya either love him or ya hate him. I'd prefer a little over the top than completely bland.

My personal opinion would be their career lengths argue towards why they should be captains of the team, not why they shouldn't. Sure it'd be short term, but you can't argue they both aren't leaders. Their veteran status' and skill both scream assistant captain to me, much more so than Val and Kron. They are heck of guys and will have their day if they stay with the team. I guess it just comes down to what people think is more important in terms of being a captain. Its a mixture between leadership,skill,seniority. I think it should be a mixture between all 3 when looking to sew the letters on a jersey.

When Lidstrom and Draper's time is up I would personally like to see Zetterberg "C" Datsyuk "A" Rafalski "A" Holmstrom "A" any complaints?

Man, reading this thread and seeing your roster prediction for this year was a bone chilling shock. Wow, no Nick Lidstrom on the wings... something just felt wrong. I started watching the wings in 1994 as a kid, having #5 on your blue line is just essential... I am going to just ignore this thread like a couple others... I'll cross the bridge in June when we are hoisting the cup and Lidstrom goes out a winner.

I agree, he has pretty good potential. give him a couple more games and im pretty confident he will put at least one in the back of the net. that one shift in particular, the really nice backcheck his speed really came out. keep it up, we need that kinda stuff.
