    Chants

I was at Game 2 in the Phoenix series, and it was crazy electric. A lot of the name chanting was started by some guys in my section, actually. It was great! I did hear a big JIMMY HOWARD chant last game after he'd made some great saves, too. The more fans in the seats and the less corporate owned seats the better!

400 Posts for a Sharks Win in Game 4

Not making it to 400 might do a better job of jinxing than making it would.

Yes, it's so ******* shameful to think the team we root for can come back from a series deficit.

    Official "We Believe" Thread

I believe that tonight we will see the Wings do what we know they can do. I believe that they have the will, talent, and skill to overcome this adversity. I believe that Pavel is going to deke Niemi out of his jockstrap.

    The person below me game...

Yes. It's the first site I've ever registered for where a variant of my real name was available, so I had to go with it. The person below me was really expecting the Nashville-Vancouver series to be more interesting than it has been thus far.

You can, actually. The text size can be changed, or it can be flipped so that it's "sideways" in the screen. I haven't yet figured out all the things that it can do! I love paper books too, and there's something almost magical about the scent of a used bookstore! But I like to always have something to read with me, and this little machine fits in even my smallest purse. Most of the books I tend to read are pretty bulky, so I'm looking forward to a life of literary portability. I'm starting with the free classics-- hey, they're free, so I may as well go back and read them without English teachers demanding I find symbolism on every page!

Red Wings will win this series

Ah, our time traveler with headlines from the future is back!

    This or That

Neither-- I was disappointed they didn't use Bebop and Rocksteady in the movie. Biscuit or scone?

Too mean to be funny. The person below me has played a prank which backfired, which they will now tell us about.

If our Red WIngs dont make the SCF..

Tampa Bay would be good. The Yzerman connection is there, plus they're technically my hometown team, even though they hadn't formed yet when I moved away. Vancouver would also be all right. They're an entertaining team to watch, they're skilled and work hard (usually), and it would be amusing to think of the Eastern Conference champs complaining about having to travel that far. Also, it would probably irk Bettman and his minions.
  13. Silly Grypho. Mule knows that shark is there and is going to turn right around and kick its finned ass. (Nifty underwater effects on Franzen, by the way.)

Datsyuk nominated for the Selke Trophy

I would not be at all surprised to see Helm win a Selke at some point in his career, particularly if the voters decide to focus more on the pure defensive forward criteria some year.

I actually worked as a security guard for awhile, as an average-sized female. It was on the midnight shift at a plant that made industrial glass. Mostly my job was to answer phones, let deliveries in, do minor first aid, and distribute pay stubs and other paperwork, but I did have to wear a security guard uniform. I would joke around with a couple of the workers I got fairly chummy with over the course of the summer and tell them that if a criminal came in I was hiding under the desk to call the real cops and they were on their own!

    Pittsburgh vs. Tampa Bay

I thought Dean Brown sounded like Gary Thorne too, for the first little bit.

    Pittsburgh vs. Tampa Bay

I have the feeling that if the Pens' announcers thought they could get away with it, they would actually blatantly say that Pittsburgh is losing this game on purpose as part of a master plan.

It was lasik, but it was the new bladeless kind with two separate lasers. The first laser cut the flaps in my corneas-- that's when they used the suction rings. That bit was really uncomfortable. It didn't hurt exactly, but it was not very nice! The second laser did the actual lasik part, and I wouldn't have even noticed anything was happening if not for the blinking light I was supposed to focus on. I actually didn't even notice that part had started until it was over and they were putting drops in my eyes, to tell you the truth.

Oh, I have had to spend large portions of today with my eyes closed. And I have essentially safety goggles which I'm supposed to wear for 24 hours, and then wear while I'm asleep for the next week. I also have a wondrously bright red ring around my irises, from where they applied the suction rings. It looks seriously terrifying. It's supposed to fade back to normal over the next few days, but in the meantime I plan on using my horrifying monster eyes to scare my annoying co-workers when I go back to work! Still, I'm really optimistic about how the whole thing is going so far. Not so happy about having to put in eyedrops every hour on the hour, but at least that's only temporary.

But I thought it was hip to be square. Dr. Rahmani did an excellent job with my eyes this morning! It still looks kind of like I'm looking through a sort of fog, and my eyes feel kind of uncomfortable from the suction rings and all, but I'm already seeing better than I was! It's really exciting-- I keep looking at things that are far away and realizing I can actually see them, and even read the letters on them, and grinning like a happy idiot.

    The person below me game...

No, but I have sung it sober. That's a fun one to belt out. The person below me has been singing loudly and animatedly along with the radio in the car when they realized someone from the next car was staring at them.

    The person below me game...

I try to straddle the line between tact and honesty. The person below me has a plan in mind for getting enough sleep and watching the late games this week. (I nap as soon as I get home from work, then get a few more hours of sleep when the game is over. But I never get enough sleep anyway.)
