Aw, I'm sorry you're unhappy. There was a guy sitting behind us at last night's game who had a voice like a nutmeg grater, who kept telling his grandson(?) tidbits of hockey history during the game. He was the sort of guy who seems to think his heart will stop beating if he stops talking. We never actually heard the little boy say anything. Anyway, at one point, the sound guy played "Let's Twist Again," and I heard the guy tell the kid that the arena was named after the man who sung this song! *facepalm* Chubby Checker Arena, y'all.

It was actually yesterday that we had the problem and called in, so it wasn't as instant of service as it sounded like! But anyway, the cable tech accomplished nothing and somehow rebooting the TiVo solved the problem. No, I can't explain it, I just hook up the wires as required and the electric pixies deliver hockey to my TV.

There's a cable technician out in the living room trying to convince Casey that our cable box works just fine. Even though our cable box doesn't work, which I proved earlier by plugging the cable from the wall directly into the TV. That worked, we just didn't get the digital channels without the converter box because it's an older TV. Now the guy is trying to tell Casey we must have changed a setting. Even though the TiVo successfully recorded something at 3 AM and then just didn't work at 7 PM after we'd been at work and school all day. I'm hiding out in the other room because if I were in there I'd be yelling at the cable guy for condescendingly telling us to try everything we already tried.

I think the back of the Mystery Machine is like Dr. Who's TARDIS or a Bag of Holding from D&D-- it's a controlled glitch in the spacetime continuum which means it is just the size it needs to be to contain everything it needs to contain. I mean, how many vans are there where a tall teenage boy and a Great Dane can stand up at full height? Plus I recall one episode where Scooby was using a fishing line tied to his tail to fish in a bucket in the back of the van while Fred was driving. And he caught a fish! We had some nasty storms come through today. There was even a tornado warning, and my office building is a glorified trailer, so they stuffed us all in the conference room for about an hour until the warning cleared. The worst part is that it was at lunchtime, so we weren't even getting out of doing any work!
