Cheers, Grypho. You're a fine representative of the Sharks fanbase.

No lineup changes, according to the Freep, except for the possibility of Stuie not being able to go. (Lebda will play if Stuie can't, but Stuie is "optimistic.") http://www.freep.com...ll-play-tonight Also, Stuie is wise:

Did the host on 97.1 point out that the Tigers lost 4-3 to the Twins on May 4, while the Wings lost Game 3 in OT? Or does that not count because it was past midnight EDT by the time the Wings' game was over?

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. Sure, ESPN has a much larger reach than Versus, but how much of their vast media empire would they devote to hockey? Probably not much. On Versus it's the top priority, because let's face it, they don't have anything else. Also, am I the only one who hated Thorne and Clement calling games? They had their heads so far up Patrick Roy's butt they needed proctologists to hand them their microphones. ETA: To this day I cringe when I hear Thorne's voice calling a football game!

True for hugs from everyone except my stepdad. I prefer the big bear hugs from him. The person below me has some piece of jewelry (at least one) that they wear every day without fail.

If Babcock starts Williams tonight, is there someone handy who can check Babs for dementia/Alzheimer's?
-
Yes, we did. Oh no, wait, that's just me. (In Toledo, but most everything I'm interested in is a few miles north across the state line.)
-
But when they cut it and the crowd finishes it, like they did tonight, it counts for more!
-
I must say I like your logic.
-
Why yes, yes I do. The person below me had ice cream for dessert.

Bark! Ninja or Samurai?

I like the idea. Williams, bless his heart, has been useless, an anchor, and many other things others have already gotten into. Putting Abdelkader in the lineup in last year's playoffs provided some energy for the whole team. Maybe Ritola can do the same. At the very least it will be nice to see what he can do.

I agree with you. I always park by the Ren Cen and take the People Mover over, or walk down the River Walk if the weather allows. I really like that walk. If the Wings play in a temporary home for awhile, I'd like to see them build on the current site. I'm really going to miss the Joe, though. Sticky floors and nasty bathrooms and all. It's a hole, but dammit, it's our hole!

If Lilja says it, that's good enough for me!

For me it's like this. I say the Wings will win in 6 or 7 games. If they lose a third game, I'll say they'll win in 7. If they lose a fourth game, I'll wait for next season and say they'll win then. I believe they can win any game and any series until I have definitive proof otherwise. I'm a fan. This is what I do.

I guess an elephantine glove save is like a mastodonic pad save, only smaller and less hairy?

2002 Western Conference Quarterfinals against Vancouver. Detroit lost the first two at home, Dom looked like a sieve, then they went out to Vancouver and Lidstrom scored on Dan Cloutier from center ice. Cloutier was never the same and the Wings never looked back.
-
Well, if he's going to flop like a fish, they may as well get their 2 minutes worth and hit him for real.
-
I don't see Lidstrom as the type to do things halfway like that. If he retires, it will more than likely be a real, permanent retirement. If he keeps playing, he'll give it all he's got like he's always done.
-
Of course. Gnredwing "guranteed" it, after all! The person below me takes a multivitamin every day.

Only black olives, never green. And only if there are also mushrooms and tomatoes and maybe green peppers. I do love a good veggie pizza. The person below me has short hair.

Somewhat OT... I don't know if you like alternate history types of books, but the "Newton's Cannon" series by Gregory Keyes has Karl XII as a rather important supporting character, and the author does a good job of showing him walk the line between courage and madness. You might enjoy it. Back on topic, Hudler and his scoring are more than welcome back, as far as I'm concerned. I wonder if Ozzie is going to warn Howard about the tongue thing or just let him be surprised.

I liked when he said that Cleary had "go to the net" written on his nose. Lolwhut?
