Theoretically speaking, yes. But of course it does happen all the time in the NHL. When it does happen it would be nice if your goalie would stop a few now and then.
-
Yea, I know. It's freaking sad.
-
Anyone still think MacDonald is an NHL goalie? If you go one-on-one against him there is a 90% chance you will score. That is an AHL goalie right there.
-
This PP is so sad.

Are those your two boys, in your avatar? If so, they seem pretty young so I would advise against wearing Wings gear. Just like the poster above said, be prepared for verbal abuse and with your kids being there it could get uncomfortable for you. I say for the sake of them don't do it. But that's just me. Have fun!

Did you guys know that 16 out of our 24 total loses were one-goal games? (I included a few games where we gave up an empty-netter to make it a two-goal game) That means only 8 games were by two goals or more. The last two were against Montreal and NYI way back in January. There was also that 1-7 game against Washington back in October. The point is: This team is awesome and knows how to win. When they get healthy they will be dominant once again. So, relax all you guys who think the Wings are losers just because they are 2-4-1 in the last 7. They went on a 15-2-1 stretch prior to this little slide. That makes them 17-6-2 in the last 25 games. I don't know about you but I think that's pretty damn good. As long as Datsyuk, Lidstrom, and Howard are healthy for the playoffs, the Wings will contend for the Cup.

How about "Valeri" Filppula?

Wow, that's so smart to put Hudler back on the point -- brilliant!

When Hudler skates it looks like he's skating on sand.

ZZZZZZZZZZ... wake me up when Dats comes back... ZZZZZZZZZZ

I understand what you're trying to say but those stats you posted are a bit skewed. Remember, Franzen broke out as a legitimate sniper in March of '08. If we look at his stats since then they are actually pretty good. 253 games, 110 goals, 92 assists, for 202 points. That's roughly 0.8 PPG. Not to mention his playoff scoring (especially in '08). I guess the point here is that there's more to a hockey player than just stats. If in 50 years someone who never actually watched NHL hockey from our time compared Cleary's and Franzen's stats to this point they might think they were fairly similar players. Franzen might still be putting up decent numbers but he's far from the player he was in those '08 playoffs. Then again, this whole team is far from that team so...

If Franzen does ever get traded it will be in the off-season. I find it hard to believe that Holland would trade him before the playoffs knowing how good of a goal scorer he has been in the past. But two mediocre playoffs in a row (and another early exit) could change all that. Sometimes I wonder how much of a role loyalty had to play in choosing Franzen over Hossa. Hossa is and always was a world-class talent; Franzen is a diamond in the rough.

WOW!

Poor guy. It's sad that he feels he should do this to himself because there's no one else on our team that is willing to fight. I don't understand why Bert doesn't fight anymore.

So, I'm just wondering... When is the parade?
-
Yea, Canucks' fans are pretty sensitive about the fact their team is 0 for 40.

Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Oh come on. They would at least have to be new. -
Exactly. But it sure would be awesome though.

75 hits in 48 games. no thanks. if we could get Clusterf***... now there's a hitter.

Total domination!

Do you seriously think Nash comes to Detroit and is suddenly scoring 40-50 goals per season? There is no way this happens; not because Nash isn't capable of being a 40-50 goal scorer, because no one scores that many goals here. Not with this system. What's the point of swapping Franzen for Nash if he's gonna put up 35 goals? And Nash has no playoff experience whereas Mule has 37 playoff goals; and he costs half as much. Getting Nash for a prospect or two, a first round pick and a decent veteran would be a good deal if Nash was making $5mil per season. But since he's not I'd rather let the Rangers, Kings, or Canucks over pay for him.

Can you believe they're showing Anaheim v Minnesota instead? Even if this wasn't potentially a record setting win it's still a way better game.
