i know our defensive game has been mediocre all season but i don't think it's because we have defensively mediocre players. to me it feels like problems in the d-zone are usually caused by bad passes from d-men to our forwards in the neutral zone creating odd-man rushes. that and horrible rebounds at inopportune times. also, we all know scorers can go cold at any time. that's why it's good to have depth up front. i'm fine with our forwards, both offensively and defensively. who is he gonna replace in the lineup though? salei? ericsson? i'd rather keep hudler anyways. i'd like to see rafalski go but i don't think that's happening. i think what everyone's been saying about detroit not trading at the deadline will probably end up being true. but at the same time, this team is top 5 in the league so a trade may not be necessary.

what's all this talk about trading hudler? the guy has tons of skill and when he's finally playing up to his potential you wanna trade him?

he didn't play in the '08 playoffs. although abdelkader hasn't been playing well lately, this team's problems go way beyond him. there were certain moments during today's game where i thought the game was being shown in slow-motion. a few points to make: -we can all live with rafalski's stupidity and turnovers as long as he's producing points. last 16 games he has 6 assists. -where the hell is franzen? -zetterberg has 2 goals on his last 70 shots. those 70 shots are from the last 18 games and lord knows how many times he missed the net during this stretch. -kronwall is being outplayed by salei (and at times ericsson) -lidstrom is human

lol i know. i didn't mean to insult the americans who have played. but you can't put all hockey fans in one group. also, not all american fans should be grouped together. hockey fans from states like michigan, minnesota, wisconsin, etc. are not the same as hockey fans from say, california or florida. as far as canada is concerned, in all honesty, among hockey fans the number that have never skated/played is probably less than 5%.

i agree, and it's so damn frustrating to watch right now. i think that's why a lot of us seem like we're giving up on the team. however, this team is not even close to being as good as the '08 team. i watched every single game in '08 and the wings looked alright (most of the time) in losses. to put it bluntly: "..or you got it, or you ain't" this team 'ain't got IT' (prove me wrong, wings) 32-11-7 but in 54 games: '08 team 40-10-4 84 points '11 team 32-16-6 70 points that is far off. and besides that, it's not just about the team record. it's about how they play. if the playoffs started today the wings would lose in the first round.

that '08 team was 41-10 when they went into that february slump. just saying.
