Not quite. In the three games in Boston Luongo gave up 15 goals. He gave up a total of 20 goals in the 7 game series. 5 goals against in 4 home games, two shutouts. In the four losses, Vancouver managed to score a total of 3 goals. In the three wins, they scored 5 goals.

Yea, you're probably right about that. I don't think Holland would trade a star player to a rival anyways. Trading Franzen (if it happens) to the East is most likely.

Right, like all Franzen needs is to be surrounded by talent and then he will magically turn into a great player again. He already plays with Dats and this whole season he has been awful. The deal wouldn't happen because Vancouver would never trade an all-star goalie to a powerhouse rival not because we would be afraid of Franzen.

Swap Franzen for Luongo? I'd rather keep Jimmy though. He will be in a contract year next season so he will probably play even better. Either way, I don't think Vancouver would trade Luongo to a Western Conference rival. If he does get traded, it will be to the East. Edit: Also, Luongo's contract runs for another 7 or 8 years. That seems just as bad as Franzen's. Just imagine a 40 year old Luongo getting paid $5+ mil per season to ride the pine at the Joe.

We should've seen this coming (Franzen being terrible). His line in that Ram commercial is "Howard's in trouble", but it always makes me think: "You're the one who's in trouble. You can't even score on a truck these days"

People wanted him to get traded last offseason, and the year before too. Then he suddenly has a breakout season and everyone loves him again. Then, he has one bad playoff series and everyone wants him gone again. He has too many positive qualities to let him go now. For all we know he could be playing hurt. This is why there are people getting paid a lot of money to make these kinds of decisions. Hudler hit the post with the game tied. We had a lot going and then that goal happens. Either way the defensive breakdown on that play was just as ridiculous as Howard wandering out of his crease.

He is a bargain. And for the most part, he has been great. But that second goal was pure garbage. It reminded me of Howard from the last two seasons where he was overcommitting at times. And even though it's only one terrible goal, it was truly a momentum killer. Not saying Howard is to blame for this loss but that was one hell of a time to have a brain fart.

It's pretty obvious Scotty Bowman needs to be associated with this team in some way if they are going to be champions again.

So true about Nyquist. He's clearly not ready to play in the NHL since he is expected to be a point producer. I don't understand why he was in the lineup this whole time. Maybe they should slide Fil down to centre that third line? Datsyuk, Z, Fil, Emmerton. This frees up Abdelkader to play the wing and thus be a more aggressive and effective winger.

A $2500 fine to him is like a $20 fine to the rest of us. That will really teach him a lesson. If they felt that this was not suspension worthy then why not just say that and move on. Issuing this trivial fine is just embarrassing.
