That's exactly my point. The fact that he's still in the lineup says that either the organization feels Cleary at 50% is still better than someone from GR at 100% or they just don't have any other choice. Conner comes to mind as a replacement but that pretty much tells me that Babcock thinks Cleary is worth more injured than a healthy Conner.

Emmerton takes almost as many face-offs as Filppula. But playing Centre is much more than just taking the face-off and if he was an 'empty sweater' as you say he is, I'm sure Babcock and co. would have noticed it by now. Having said that, if Eaves and Helm weren't injured Emmerton wouldn't be in the lineup. Miller, Helm, Cleary, Abdelkader, Eaves, and Homer as the bottom 6 is not bad, I guess. Stupid salary cap

Put Conner in for Emmerton? So, replace a Centreman with a Winger? Conner should have been playing instead of Cleary? Seriously guys, leave the managing and coaching to the people who get paid to do it. If Holland and Babcock listened to this board the Wings would be the Blue Jackets.

If they can't beat Nashville in a 7 game series, they aren't good enough to win it all. I guess we'll see what this team is made of real soon.

No idea. My guess is not many. To be fair though, this 100pt season is a bit artificial. 10 shootout wins plus a few OT losses. Realistically speaking this team is a 85-90 pt team. And going by that logic the 100pt streak ended two seasons ago in a way.

Yea, 4th place would be the worst finish in a division since 1989-90, the last time the Wings missed the playoffs.

Since the Central division came into existence in 1993 the Wings have won it 13 times and were 2nd 4 times. That's 17 seasons, 13 wins and 4 runner-ups. Let's hope that streak continues.
