As has been stated. Stevie and Mr. Hockey are absolutely without a doubt automatic. I do agree with the Ilitch idea too but Nick and Terrible Ted are excellent additions considering what they both have done for this franchise. Lidstrom arguably the greatest ever at his position and definitely in the last 25 years and Ted Lindsay is just Red Wings royalty as part of the greatest line in hockey history. It's definitely just that more amazing of a thing to think about when you try to do something like think of 4 people in Wings history for a "Mt. Puckmore". s***, we are lucky.

We all felt like we could do that after D Mac did (not taking anything away from his hockey skill). He scored a goal for the ages for the gritty guys out there. And the Gary Thorne call still resonates in my mind too. Just great stuff.

That freeze frame of Mac is probably top 3 single greatest moments in my hockey life. First obviously Stevie lifting Lord Stanley that very same night. But the fact Mac scored a goal like that.... I definitely still get chills.

My point I was really trying to get at is in the long run I don't see Niemi or Fleury really being top notch tendies in this league for years to come. Granted they have a ring a piece. Just can't see it turning into 2 great, long careers. It's to be seen considering both are in their mid-20's.

Can't really find the Finals #'s for both but hopefully someone is better at the search button than I.

Leighton absolutely showed plenty of potential and I believe they made the right choice with bringing him back. But with Niemi I really don't see a whole lot in him, granted he won the Cup with the stacked team he had in front of him. He often looked below average to me and that Cup ring, although some fight their whole careers to get to, will most likely be his only. And meh, I guess thats not too shabby for him.

Fingers are certainly crossed on that one. Thrashers could have 2 Kanes.. I like it.

Not if it was statistically one of the worst performances by a winning goalie in the history. Note: I said ONE of not completely positive on the others but I can imagine this is close. Win's a win but he was pretty awful but Leighton was somehow worse.

And he more often than not plays great in all situations. 2 men down, 2 men up, even strength and so on... He is absolutely one of the more overlooked superstars this league has and will continue to be and that suits Hank just as well. Might be thrusted a bit more when he puts that "C" on his sweater but he really should on that PK more. Just has a "deeper will tank", love that quote.

Kind of shocked Hank hasn't made it to others PK combos. Defensively and pure hustle...who better I say.
