Holy s***... this is just getting out of hand with these contracts. I mean he is a pretty talented player but he is more of a poor man's Adam Oates. Outrageous, Minnesota.

Hockey players do get hurt so you are basically attempting to clean up your own garbage with these statements but the fact of the matter is and its quite simply put.... Cleary brings everything to all lines and you just can't find these guys everywhere especially on the open market. And saying someone can come in and get paid 3 mill to do the SAME things Cleary does proves s*** considering the Wings (who actually can manage their team and not manage from NHL 10) would NEVER ever get rid of a player such as this considering the versatility he brings. Fact is he is coming back healthy, and we don't know how many he will play or miss. Injuries are as unpredictable as a goalie's mindset. You just really don't know what will happen especially with last year's epidemic. I just don't understand the all out bashing of a guy who really just leaves it out there on the ice for us every night. I will do one better and say he is damn near irreplaceable and the Wings easily feel the same.

Agree on the Miller aspect more so than on the Eaves portion. Eaves proved his worth on the ice this year and brought a nice added burst to his line and has a more than acceptable wrist shot. Character guys such as Eaves are more valuable than ever given credit for.

CLUTCHHHHHH Or this from soooo long ago... Complaining about youtube posts will just get some more of this. And making claims that Clears will play 50 games lol and be shocked if he plays 60 cracks me up. What are these "signs of age" inuries he has had??? I am interested here.

Then make the cover of Sports Illustrated and it will say "Ilya Kovalchuk comes to the Red Wings to win the Cup". Where have I seen this before?
-
Therein lies said problem. Ericsson needs to bring what we all thought we saw in the 08-09 season/playoffs. Not fully sure what actually happened to the snarl and/or puck skill he seemed to showcase that season. In the corners and by the net he just tucked his tail and ran. This cannot happen. So hopefully we can bring in a Boynton or McKee.
-
Fully agree with ya on that. Like our manager of the Tigers, just doesn't make any real drastic change (Babs knows more than all). Its just the top 2 pairings don't really have the same effect they once did. I think a little toying around with the top 2 wouldn't kill us. Nick and Raff on the point for the PP is almost impossible to mess with. But 5 on 5 I wouldn't mind a mix up.
-
They can juggle it a bunch. Hope I am not replying to sarcasm lol but I really agree with the Raff and Stuie combo. Nick can really go with anyone in the system.
-
No more Nick and Raffi. They don't compliment the way they have in years past. I'd be cool with... Lidstrom-Kronwall Stuie-Raffi Ericsson-meh Kindl (real uncertain there) Meech, Janik Find who works out best. Big E has so much to prove this year its an understatement. This really puts the necessity of re-signing Lilly pads into perspective.
-
Mitch Albom. Getting worse unfortunately.
-
Any chance Janik cracks top 6 even with healthy D throughout? Not really wishing on it but he was more than serviceable in his games last year.
-
Eva drilled it. If Dino gets in, Ozzie shall as well. Its a huuuuge f*** up on the league if they leave him out simply because of "haters"....

We've got the ice tonight, 8-9, 3rd floor.

Everyone's favorite Cup answer... Dallas Drake? -
And Canadian hockey players do zip, zilch, nada wrong EVER!!!!!
-
IF ESPN ever planned on getting any NHL credibility back they lost it with their best NHL player award. This said Gary Thorne needs to call games again though. His goal calls are just the absolute best aside from Kenny Kal.

Just lit the lamp.

THIS shall return.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJF674zPCzM a little choppy on that one but this guy should be traded, eh?? haha

I really think Abby gets his chance to show us all what he's got this year centering that 3rd line (Modano talks aside). Had the scoring touch in AHL for sure but obviously that doesn't generate nearly the same as in the Big Show. Abby with Clears and Huds on each side can make some s*** happen. When was the last line combo thread???
-
This kid will be a fan favorite no question. Just hope the skill and motivation keeps going. Always a plus to know you have someone like this in the system and on his way up in the next couple years.

AWWW... Wait, Mike, pink shoes

Was nearly as nauseating as the NHL awards. No real hockey awards other than the Hawks up for best team . Didn't keep it on long enough to care. The Will Ferrell bit with the World Cup vuvuzellas(sp) was somewhat funny but that was about it.
-
Bert-Comrie-Cleary? I don't know... its not going to happen but would love to bring a U of M boy here. Love his game and makes the 3rd line more legit than even Modo would.

The Blues to Win the Central This year?

Forgot Versteeg too. He was beyond key and a 20 goal scorer and great character guy. Sharp goes.... ohhhh boy -
and Mike Comrie. Come play for 1 mill and contend for a Cup and center that 3rd line. Huds-Comrie-Cleary yikes

Pretty generous grading system there eva. I don't really know if the Wings have A defense even with Nick, Raffi, Stuie, Kronner back there. And Columbus with all B-. Their forward lines got a bit better with Spezza but closer to a C. Not going to really kill ya on this though as I find most of your posts intriguing. I will say B in tending for the Hawks IF Niemi comes back but we have no clue about that. They lose him thats another C. Regardless though this order is kind of how I see it too with Nashville potentially finishing higher than St. Louis.
