Agreed but check the last few days of threads. I just hear "trade Cleary" without saying whom would be involved. Just wanted the overall opinion really.

I hear ya man. Ladd isn't as bad as we may think. But replacing Cleary is the argument here and as you stated, no thanks. I should say I will take Ladd with Cleary still. How about that?

EDIT: Burish or Ladd... no thanks. Ladd is nothing special really. Has been a healthy scratch this playoffs too so Chicago can't even find his use. Pass.

*facepalm* my friend, no.... Adam Burish or Ben Eager are nothing near the player Cleary is. These hands of stone are 1 year removed from a 9 goal playoff and the injury was the knee. Fail but thanks for the input.

Yep tons of goals are pleasing to the uneducated hockey eye but to be honest...worst tending I have seen in a Finals in quite a while. Before it started it held little interest to me and once I started watching my love for hockey took over and I have still watched anyway. Hoping for a Flyers triumph though.

Very true. It was crazy how much we needed him against the Pens in the Finals. Would LOVE if it could be cheaper but for 1 mill and give or take a few more its a bargain. Also took a s*** ton less to come here as well fellas. I realize he just bounces to winners that eventually go on to lose the Finals but, we were all singing a different tune when we got him. Especially when he played the way he did throughout the season and I saw crazy mofo's donning his jersey even though we knew it was for 1 and done, and even the way he was going in the Chicago series right before the Finals. I was at game 5 in the WCF and the guy was pretty close to unstoppable. I think we should all just take it easy on the Hossa hate. I am not a slappy here and I loathe Chicago but there is really nothing in here that has made a ton of sense to do one of these if he loses another. The overall consensus to me would make more sense to do one of these if Chicago was to lose out on another. The Hossa part would just make an amazing story that's all. No real gratification comes from it.

There was SO many great players on that team. I don't know if any one player really stood out completely. But Vladi sure did with the amazing hits (See Eric Lindros, See Eric Lindros get rocked! ) exceptional defensive play, and even very underlooked shot he had. That whole team was spectacular but he certainly was one of a kind.

Won't ever forget this day... I was12 years old and thinking that they all died, including Stevie Y. The details were so sketchy when it first happened. We were just heart broken to see Vladinator reduced to this, but winning the following year was probably my favorite Cup just because of Vladi getting to hoist right after Stevie. We love you Vladi and Sergei M. Forever Red Wings.

The sheer fact we are discussing trading Cleary in this Bert thread just baffles me and LGW never ceases to amaze with the amount of ass hats that sign in here everyday to say this. The man fought through a torn meniscus which everyone condemns him for and some think thats just sheer Cleary warrior stuff. I am of the latter thinking this guy would die for the Wings on the ice. You NEVER get rid of guys that carry this much respect in the locker room and you NEVER forget what this guy has done during both Cup runs. Clears will be back at 100% and for most thats still not enough but for me that gets me pumped. IF Bert will sign for the right price bring him back. If he retires get somebody else then, I am ok either way. But give up the Cleary bashing....

Said this exact same thing to a buddy of mine last night after s***cago started controlling the whole game... Pretty much the same series with way less defense and goaltending. (Probably some of the worst tending I have seen in a Finals in a long time) If Marian Hossa must go through the exact same thing 3 years in a row and the exact same series 2 years in a row I think it could be time to pull chute on signing that guy for Cup runs. Just a thought
