A lot of this is reasonable, but I sure as hell hope we don't give Ericsson 1.5 a year but actually show him the door. That's an overpayment for a guy who turns the puck over an awful lot and hardly uses his big frame.

Babs has said one player that most other teams and GM's have brought up this year is Abby. Babs is wild about him and I know most of us on this site are too. Let's not lose sight of the fact the kid is the perfect fit for playoff hockey. Sure, I'd be singing a somewhat different tune were this series to end on that penalty but I also see him for what he brings. A lot of GRIT and determination. Isn't that what we all love around here as well??

JV might go for another no-no this year. Just something he has the ability to do; completely neutralizes hitters with 3 plus pitches. I mean, the dude was hitting 100 mph consistently toward the end of that game. Awesome to have JV locked up for awhile.

It is knee-jerk city... His boneheaded penalties have definitely pissed me off something fierce but I still don't want this kid out. He has that hunger and drive we need for the rest of this series. Call me out on it if ya like, the kid has tons of heart.

I'd say Mule doesn't play given how it looked at the end of the game there. His ankle has progressively gotten worse and he is virtually ineffective on his cuts and drives that he normally has. Hudler cannot come back in with the way this series is going to get. Modano's time has finally come I'd say. Hope he really ramps it up and gets inspired to win some games and play some intense playoff hockey. Coming in the middle of this thing might be tough but he is a professional and what better time to prove what this signing might have been all about? Playoff tested experience. I just know I am all antsy about Tuesday night already and its Monday morning.....

Like I said, when the going get tough, Wings fans run for the hills and come back thumping their chests saying, "WOO!!!! I knew it!!!" Granted, this thing is still FARRRR from over but the effort in last night's game was pretty bad up til the 3rd period surge. Those bounces are what you need in a series like this. Niemi definitely looked rattled a lot and the Cleary goal was just a perfect type of goal to flip this thing. A game at a time and now we have to protect the ice here and keep on playing. A+ for Jimmy Howard!
